SPADATE

Hiya, Elise!

Well, I've got to say that I'm kinda glad that I'm going on with my peeps on a TROPICAL SPA RESORT date and not down in the mud in the SWAMP... Weird about Violet having crossed over to the DARK SIDE. Although, maybe her newfound love of fame and the cameras would make her an interesting choice for one of our other singletons, Noah. I know I'd originally intended to put them together, but that was pre-Chase Porter, pre-makeover, pre-... well, basically EVERYTHING. (I will say that I doubt young Noah is interested in REAL CONNECTIONS at the moment -- too much fun to be had chasing around the country crowd-pleasing -- but he might be amenable to a fame-boosting TEMPORARY CONNECTION. Will muse about this and come back to you with ideas.)

As for your Zelda emails... SCARY!!! I keep getting calls from Ted but he hasn't been able to penetrate much further than the stuff I told you already. (He mostly calls to see if we've uncovered anything. I'm half-tempted to tell him to call Derek directly and talk to him, but if I did that, NEITHER of them would tell you or me ANYTHING -- you know how BOYS are!!!! So I won't be doing that.)

Anywhoo, I've just been nailing down the details for SPADATE. I had three different Mexican resort-and-spa places in a BIDDING WAR for the opportunity to host a date for us, and it was all very up in the air until the winner actually offered to FLY US BY CHARTER JET directly to and from the airfield nearest to the resort. (You may have seen them -- the Mariposita Secrets Luxury Resort & Spa (all-inclusive, adults-only) -- on the most recent season of "The Matchmaker in Paradise" where the matches swam through underground caverns, visited ancient Mayan ruins, and traversed the quaint, picturesque streets of a small village in the area. Apparently the resort is still PROVING ITSELF and seeking to reach a WIDER AUDIENCE and they have been reaching out to the DATING SHOWS with the MOST INFLUENCE in order to make a splash... We are going to have TWO suites set aside for us, and a full spa day as well as other activities that the matches can choose from, and I think it is all going to be very posh and TOTES RELAXING.)

Since they VERY MUCH WANT to have this sent forth as WIDELY AS POSSIBLE, they've asked if we would bring along a camera crew -- we'll be leaving from LAX so I've already set up my TRUSTY CREW from SoCal (who were STOKED to get a chance to do this!!!!) to come along with us... they won't be staying in the suites, but they will have rooms reserved on the "Jungle View" side of the resort. They wanted me to come along and were kinda surprised that I didn't have an ENTOURAGE (NOTE: should we be hiring entourages for ourselves? It might make it easier to juggle this sort of arrangements), and spent the rest of the time encouraging me to bring along some assistants, "Just in case".

I floated it by The Hubs, who actually looked VERY VERY TEMPTED, but all he'd say was "let me check first". So maybe he'll get to come with!!! I told him that he could relax by the pool / beach and not mess about with matches and dates...

So we'll see how that turns out!!!

R1 has been kinda annoyed about this the whole time -- she would prefer to remain BY HER SISTER'S SIDE as she stays with Keith in the hospital, but judging from the call I got from Becky, SHE would TOTES APPRECIATE a break from her OVERLY-CONCERNED older sister who has been IN THE WAY. (I also suspect she'd like some alone time with Keith -- call me crazy!!!)

Ron was VERY WORRIED about the FOOD & WATER situation, it being MEXICO, until I assured him that they have FRESHLY BOTTLED WATER flown in from the States on a DAILY BASIS. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if he brings a separate suitcase JUST FOR SUSTENANCE.

Kate was a little underwhelmed by my description of the date and wanted to know "Why you keep putting me on these dates for WUSSIES" but I encouraged her by saying that a full-body treatment would just keep her IN THE PINK for her upcoming bodybuilding competition, and that there ARE personal trainers and EXTENSIVE FITNESS FACILITIES at the resort.
