"You know back there when I asked you if you wanted to come along this Friday, part of me thought that you were going to say no." Ethan confessed. Since it was a nice day outside, Ethan and I decided to walk around the school campus.

"Come on, I'm not that mean." I laughed. "Actually I was surprised when you asked me, I would have figured that you would ask a cheerleader."

"This isn't like the movies Kat." He chuckled. "Just cause I'm the football captain doesn't mean that the cheer captain is my girlfriend. Yeah I mean she's hot but that's not the only trait I look for in girls."

"So what do you look for in girls Ethan?" I questioned.

"They have to be able to deal with my humor. Like I'm a guy and I say dumb shit that I sometimes don't mean and I need someone who won't get butt hurt by those jokes." He sighed. "Still haven't found her yet."

"Well maybe if you stopped looking for she'll end up showing up on her own Ethan."

*bell rings*

"Schools already over? Dang time sure went by fast." He said as we walked back to the front of the school.

"I know right. It's because you had someone wonderful to talk to." I flicked my hair.

"You got that right." We stopped at the front of the school. "Need a ride somewhere?"

"No thanks. Someone's going to pick me up." I looked around the parking lot and spotted Austin's Range Rover.

"Alright. I'll see you before practice?" He looked down at me.

"Like always." I smiled up at him. Ethan leaned down for a friendly hug and I of course returned it. "Bye."

"Bye Kat." He said before I walked towards Austin's car.

"Hey." I hopped inside Austin's car. "How was the studio?"

"Fine." He mumbled as he turned the engine back on.

"Okay?" I said kind of confused. I buckled myself in.

"So who were you talking to?" He whispered as he drove us to my house.

"Oh that was Ethan, he's my friend." I said calmly. Austin better not overreact, he's just a friend and plus Austin and I aren't even dating.

"Ethan? Like the Ethan you were texting?" He scoffed.

"Austin don't even." I groaned.

"Don't even what? You're the one who's talking to someone else." He gripped his steering wheel.

"You're overreacting oh my goodness!" I said exasperated.

"You did not just say that." He turned to face me.

"He's just a friend Austin!" I yelled. "Last time I checked so are you." I mentally cussed myself out as those words escaped my mouth. "I didn't mean it like that." I said once I noticed Austin's expression change.

"Yeah.." Austin faced forward and kept driving.

I decided to shut up and keep my mouth closed the rest of the ride home because I didn't want to mess anything else up. Part of me felt like shit but the other part of me felt that it was true. Austin and I aren't dating or anything. But then yet again, we've had sex more than once. So what do you call that? Friends with benefits? Nah I'm not down for that. Or am I?
Austin parked by the curve leading to my house.

I slowly unbuckled my seatbelt. "Do you want to come in?"

"No I think I'm good. I have some stuff do to." He replied without even looking at me.
