Chapter 20

Austin's POV

"No way," Katherine laughed. "You were on America's Most Funniest Home Videos?"

"My mom submitted a video and I was on the show." I laughed back. We were now gathered around the counter while my mom was telling embarrassing stories of me.

"That's the cutest thing ever." she awed.

"And there was this one time at the lake, you remember Austin?" my mother said.

"Of course I do mom." I smiled. "But you should save those stories for some other time because we want to hang out, alone."

"Well okay, just keep your door open Austin." Katherine laughed as we stood up.

"Don't worry mom, we'll be good." I assured her as we headed upstairs to my room.

As soon as I opened the door to my bedroom Katherine jumped on my bed. "Ugh I'm so tired." she groaned.

I walked over to her and took off her converse. "No shoes on my bed."

"Sorry Carter." she said with her  face on my mattress.

"Why are you so tired?" I joined her on the bed.

"School." Katherine groaned. "I'm not really morning person." she sat up.

"Yeah neither am I." I smiled at her. "So Nevada?"

"Oh my gosh yes, just don't think I'm crazy." she laughed.

"Too late." I cut in.

She flicked my forehead. "Anyways, I'm going to pick up my car this weekend and I invited the crew from yesterday to come and I was wondering if you wanted to tag along?"

"First of all, ow." I laughed referring to the flick. "And second of all I would love to come."

"Yay." she squealed. "And I'm sowwy." she kissed the spot where she flicked me. "All better."

My heart skipped a beat when her lips made contact with my forehead. "Thank you." I whispered.

"You're welcome Carter." she whispered back, her face inches from mine.

I started to lean in. I figured it was a bad idea because I had already tried that in the car but this time, nothing was stopping me. I could hear and feel her breathing on my lips which were millimeters apart from hers.

"I don't think this is a good idea." she whispered on my lips.

"I do." I whispered back and crashed my lips to hers. She automatically kissed back and jumped onto my lap. I grabbed her by the waist while she played with my hair which drove me insane.

After a few seconds she pulled away and stared into my eyes. "Your eyes are beautiful." she quietly whispered out of breath.

"We kissed." I looked deeply into her grey eyes.

She shyly smiled and looked away. "What happens next?"

"I don't know, I come to Nevada with you?" I smiled at her.

"I love that idea." she hopped off my lap and laid next to me. "Could you wake me up at 4:15?"

"Of course." I told her as she snuggled into me.

"Good night." she put an arm on top of me.

I kissed her forehead. "Night Hope." I pulled out my phone and put my alarm on because I knew that I was going to fall asleep.

Katherine's POV

"Hope wake up." someone shook me.

"Leave me alone." I groaned half asleep.
