"Your total is $7.98." the pizza delivery guy handed me my pizza.
"Here's a 10, keep the change." I smiled at him.
"Well thank you very much." he smiled at me, I smiled at him before I closed the door.
"Pizzas here!" I shouted at Austin. All of a sudden he appeared out of nowhere.
"I smell pizza!" he said with a smile on his face.
"Man you must really like pizza." I laughed and set the pizza box on the table by the couch. "I'll be back with drinks. Try not to finish the pizza."
"I'll try but no promises." he shouted.
I laughed as I headed into the kitchen, I opened the refrigerator to find it full of Arizona's. Confused I got two cans of ice tea when I remembered that the Arizonas were from yesterday when I hung out with Rob. Thinking of Rob made me realize that I haven't texted him since school.
"What are you making the drinks?" Austin interrupted my thoughts.
"Ha no, I just got distracted, that's all." I closed the refrigerator.
"Well come on before the pizza gets cold." he headed back into the living room.
"What do you wanna watch?" I placed the Arizona's on the table infront of the couch and sat down next to Austin. "We got Netflix." I grabbed the remote and turned the tv on.
"A scary movie!" he said with an evil grin.
"Hell no. Scary movies gives me nightmares." I gave him a look.
"Is that any way to treat your guest?" he gasped.
"Yes it is." I tossed him the remote and grabbed a slice of the pizza. "You're lucky you're cute." I told him as I took a big bite from my pizza slice.
"Well thank you." he laughed. "I like that your personally." he scrolled through Netflix.
"That's a first." I joked. "My mother says that my actions are not very lady like." I took a sip from my Arizona and burped. "I don't blame her."
Austin laughed. "I don't see why she would say that."
I looked at him for a few seconds until I bust out laughing. "I say the exact same thing." I continued to laugh.
Austin soon joined in and started laughing himself.
"Kathy?" I heard a small voice.
"Adam?" I stood up to find him on the last step of the staircase. I walked over to pick him up. "Did we wake you buddy?" I kissed his curly blond hair.
"Did we wake you up little guy?" Austin asked my little brother.
Adam shook his head yes and rubbed his eyes. I sat down and pulled him onto by lap. "I'm sorry, shh go back to sleep." I rocked him back and forth. "Do you wanna go up to your room and watch cartoons?" I asked him.
"Bubble Guppies?" he said half asleep.
A laugh escaped my mouth. "Yes Bubble Guppies. Come on let's go." I stood up. "I'll just go lay him down and I'll be back." I told Austin.
~
"Okay this part is going to be scary, I know it." I hid my face on Austin's shoulder. We were now on my couch watching Wrong Turn 4, after I had placed Adam in his room I had grabbed a blanket and headed downstairs where Austin finally found a movie to watch.
"Oh come on, it won't be that bad." he laughed. "Come on just watch."
"Mmm mmmm nope." I heard one of the characters in the movie scream and I squeezed Austin's shoulder.
"It's over baby." Austin tapped my head. "The movie is over, that was the last scene."
"Good cause I couldn't watch anymore." I let go of him.
"You didn't even watch the movie." Austin laughed.
"I so did." I crossed my arms.
"Did not. Most of the time you were hiding on my shoulder." he pointed out.
"Well well it's cause your shoulder is comfortable." I lied.
"Yeah whatever Katherine." he mocked. "Hey what time is it?"
I checked my phone. "It's almost 7:30. Do you have to leave?"
"Yes I think so." he sighed.
"Noo, you're my only friend." I jumped on him.
"You've got Adam." he joked.
"Haha very funny." I climbed off him. "If you have to leave then it's fine."
"But I don't want to." he whined.
"I dont want you to either." I groaned. It got quiet for a second until I spoke up. "Would it be weird if I told you that I feel like I've known you my whole life?" I looked at him.
He smiled. "I was going to say the same thing."
"Lier." I laughed.
"Can I ask you a question?" he asked.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Is there you know anything between you and Rob?" he looked at the floor.
"No." I said without thinking. "Well kind of sort of. It's complicated, I mean yeah we've kissed a couple times but something tells me that we aren't gonna go anywhere."
"Oh." he simply said. "Well I should get going." he stood up.
"I'll walk you out." I walked behind him.
He opened the door and stepped out. "I had a lot of fun tonight Katherine."
"I'm glad, so did I." I smiled at him.
"We should do this again sometime." he said looking at me.
"I'd really like that." I looked at him.
"You know maybe we could you know text sometime." he nervously said.
"I don't think that can happen." I said.
"Oh." he sounded disappointed.
"Because," I added. "You haven't asked for my number yet." I flashed him a smile and he looked relieved. "Trade phones." I pulled out my phone and grabbed his.
"Done, here." we handed our phones back to each other. "I like Hope better." he smiled at his phone.
"I know that's why I put it." I responded. "And I like Carter better." I smiled.
"I know that's why I put it." he laughed. "It's getting late, I should go." he added.
"Can I have something before you leave?" I asked him.
"Yeah. What?" he asked.
"This." I stepped closer and hugged him. He instantly hugged me back and squeezed me.
"Carter." I groaned.
"Sorry." he laughed. We pulled away from the hug. "I like the sound of that." he smiled at me.
"The sound of what?" I asked confused.
"Of you calling me Carter." he confessed.
"Awh Carter." I cooed. "Well get use to that because to me you aren't Austin Mahone, you're Carter."
