It has been four years since her mother left and Ava just turned seven.  I can’t believe my little Ladybug is seven.  She is growing up into quite the young lady.  Still dramatic as ever and quite full of energy.  She definitely keeps me on my toes.

In the four years since, I did find a better paying job.  However it was in London.  We moved here the summer that Ava turned 4.  I planned it so that Ava was able to start school here in London and not have to start in Ireland and then transfer to a new school in a new country.  I will do anything to make her life easier.

She is happy and healthy and that is what is most important.  I am happy too, I guess.  I haven’t had a relationship since Rachel left.  I haven’t really wanted to have to give my time to anyone else besides my little girl.  But it does get lonely.

The move was slightly difficult.  I had been hired at a large financial company in London, but hadn’t been able to find a flat for Ava and me just yet.  Luckily I had a friend in London that Ava and I were able to stay with until we found a home of our own.

I met Liam Payne when I was in grade school.  His family moved to Ireland for his father’s job and we became instant friends.  His family moved back to England about a year before I met Rachel but we kept in touch and maintained our friendship.  I even chose him as Ava Belle’s godfather.

Liam had a four bedroom house that he shared with his boyfriend of 2 years, Zayn Malik.  They were a lovely couple and really devoted to each other.  Ava Belle attached herself to Zayn and he is probably her favorite person in the world, apart from her daddy of course.  Liam and Zayn look after her like she was their own and I’m so grateful that I have the both of them in our lives.

We lived with them for the first year of living in London.  My job had been going really well and I was making great money and was able to buy a home for Ava and myself in the same neighborhood as Liam and Zayn.  It’s a nice 3 bedroom home with a large playroom for my Ladybug.  She fell in love with it when she saw it.  And of course I couldn’t say no to her when she told me that it was the house that she wanted.  I think it helped that she was able to have her own bathroom.  Each of the bedrooms had their own private baths.  The playroom was a big plus for her too.  Another plus was that not only were we in the same neighborhood as Uncle Lili and My Zaynie (as she refers to them), but their house was right next door.

The leaves, with their autumn colors of red and orange, are falling silently from the branches above and landing gently on the ground as Ava Belle and I are taking our every-Saturday walk through the park near our home.

Saturdays are our busiest days of the week for the two of us.  We take our walk through the park.  Then my little Ava has ballet lessons from 2:30 to 3:30 and then drama classes (at her request) from 4 to 5.  Luckily both activities are in the same art center located only a few blocks from the house.

During the time she is doing her activities I am able to do all of the shopping for the week because Sundays are our rest days and the weekdays are busy with my working and her schooling and then me helping her with her homework at night.

I have become great friends with her drama teacher, Louis Tomlinson.  He and Ava share a special bond as well. She calls him ‘My Louis’, but only when the other children aren’t around.  Otherwise it’s Mr. T.

It is so hard not to be wrapped around her little finger.  She looks at you with her beautiful sparkling blues eyes and flips her long wavy brown hair with all the sass in the world and you cave in.

After a few months of her being in Drama class, I began to notice that I found Louis quite good looking and thus began my internal struggle with if I am bisexual or not.  I didn’t think I was gay because I still found women attractive and have been out with a couple but nothing that ever went past one or two dates with anyone.

Louis was gay and I did discuss the situation with him and decided that we would go out on a date.  We had a great time and we did kiss at the end of the night.  It was nerve racking.  My first kiss with a guy.  But I did like it.  I decided then that I was bisexual.

I went on a couple more dates with Louis, but we both decided that we were better as friends.  He is now happily dating a guy named Michael that works as an art teacher in the art center.  They are great together.

Ava and I got lunch at “The Little Café” like we do every Saturday and then headed back home for her to change for ballet.  I walked her into her ballet class and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

“Daddy, really!” she groaned.  “I’m not a little girl anymore….sheesh!”

“You will always be my little Ladybug darling.” And gave her another kiss where she wiped the other one away.  She just smiled and gave me one her hugs that just warms your heart and raced over to her friends.

I placed her bag with her change of clothes in her cubby and called out to her.

“I’ll see you after your drama class sweetheart.”

“By Daddy.” She said sweetly and blew me a kiss.
