We ended up on the beach. It was sunny and crowded but we ended up sitting on a sand dune and watched the tide roll in. It was quiet where we were and neither of us wanted to break it. I leaned my head on his shoulder and just watched my surroundings. Alan looked like he was deep in thought and I wanted to know what was running through his head. This reminded me of being with my brother. Scott was great and well we don't talk now but when he could he would visit and we would just sit on the beach and have in depth conversations.

"You okay?" Alan asked as I stared into the blue abyss of the ocean.

"Yeah just you know flashbacks and stuff," I said. He smiled and put an arm around me. The wind picked up but it felt nice.

"You know you may be the single best thing that has happened in this crazy fucked up year I've had," Alan said suddenly.

"Thanks I think," I said smiling. I didn't ask for more details because he would tell me when he wanted to talk about it but it made me feel good that I made his year just a little better. I wished we could have stayed longer but just as the sun was coming to hits highest point my cell rang.

"Hello? Austin calm down I can't understand you," I said trying to calm down a rambling Austin.

"We well I need you okay just please come back," He said sounding helpless.

"We'll be back in no time. Just breath okay? She's going to be fine eventually," I said and we hung up.

"What's going on?" Alan asked looking concerned as I got up.

"Austin and Evan got back and she locked herself in the bathroom. He said she won't talk to anyone and he's worried," I explained as we walked back to the car.

"Do you think she's okay?" Alan asked as we drove.

"I think she's grieving. I think she just needs us," I said looking out the window as we headed back into town. The scenery changed drastically. It started getting cloudy and thunder kind if idled over us. It was misting when we got back to the hotel.

"So much for our beautiful day," I sighed as we walked inside hand in hand,

"I wonder how the apartment search is going," Alan said aloud. I had forgot we were supposed to be searching for an apartment. Hopefully whatever we got will have enough space for all of us. Decorating should be fun as well. We walked into the lobby and a warm gust of air hit us. I never realized how nice the lobby looked. It was like being at a Disney hotel. Design was sort of a passion of mine. The elevator pinged and we arrived at our floor. I could hear muffled voices as we approached the door for Austin's place. I knocked and the door practically flew open. He looked so relived to see us.

"How is she?" I asked handing my things to Alan and sliding down the wall next to the bathroom door. Austin sat across from me. I shrugged and knocked.

"Evan you okay?" I asked. I got no response but I knew that would happen. Austin had his head down and he looked so helpless. I scooted over to him and hugged him.

"She will be okay. She just needs some time okay?" I asked. He attempted to smile and hugged me and we got up. Alan had flipped on the television and had made him self comfortable on the clearly unused second bed. Phil and Tino had joined us. Both looked hungover yet concerned for their friends.

"Evan you okay?" Phil asked. I'm sure she was sick of us asking but I was surprised when I heard him whisper "Evan please come out,".

The whole mood was pretty melancholy. Then I got a call. I looked down and motioned for everyone to be quiet.

"Hello?" I asked into the receiver.  A man with a monotone voice answered.

"Hello Angel? This is attorney John Winthrop and It's my job to inform you that Mr. Micheal Orlando was charged with domestic dispute and is sentenced to spend five years in jail," The man said.

"Thank you sir," I said.

"Take care," He said.

"Five years," I said clicking end on my conversation with the police. "He's going to be in jail for five years," I said clarifying what I was talking about. I looked over at Alan lying on the bed next to me and he smiled but it was lack luster at best. No one could really find a reason to be happy with Evan like this. I should be shouting with happiness that I had five years to rebuild myself and make myself a safe life here, but I couldn't bring myself to do it with my friend in shattered pieces on the bathroom floor.  Five years wasn't long the more I thought about it. Five years was enough time for me to get attached to my friends and possibly fall in love only to have to leave because he had five years to sit on his anger and plan his revenge.

"He who must not be named got five years!" I texted to Evan. I was curious to see if she would respond. Maybe some good news that didn't pertain to her mother would draw her out, but after twenty minutes of digital silence I knew it wasn't going to happen. Phil and Aaron had left the room to call someone a while ago and they came back in silently with a hint of happiness about them.

"Found a new place," Phil informed us. He was the first one in. "Not to far from here. What's the status on Evan?" He asked.

"Silence," I said quietly because I knew no one else was going to answer. Phil changed the channel on the television to find a music channel just to have some familiar noise in the background.

"When do we move in?" Alan asked after a few moments.

"They are moving our stuff in for us today," Phil answered. Aaron was trying to coax Evan out and tino had fell asleep.

"Great now all we need is a crowbar to get Evan out," I said quietly instantly regretting it as I felt daggers being jabbed in my back from Austin's glare. "Sorry," I said. I wasn't though. Evan when my parents were murdered I didn't hole up for that long.  Hours passed and my leg started to shake from going stir crazy. I rolled my eyes and jumped off the bed.

"That's it! I can't take this anymore!" I said stomping out of the room and into the hallway. I looked down and saw a maids cart a couple doors down.  I called her over.

"Excuse me ma'm do you have a key for this door?" I asked pointing at the bathroom. She nodded and pulled out a bushel of clanging keys. I said thank you after the door was opened and she took off. I looked at Evan who was laying motionless on the floor. I stared at the boys and said "Someone grab her and let's go," I said. Everyone stared at me in bewilderment but I just walked back into the room Alan and I shared grabbing our things.  Alan helped me and smiled genuinely for the first time today.

"Not saying that was the best way to handle things but good job with taking charge," Alan said as we got into the elevator.

"I hope Austin doesn't hate me but seriously she needed to come out and he needs to stop moping," I said looking down at my phone still noticing she haddn't texted me back.  The new apartment was simple and was waiting for us to decorate it and move in. The walls were white and blank but the furniture was already here. The first thing Austin did was pick a room and put Evan to bed.  I unpacked my stuff and Alan kind of just threw his stuff around. I laughed as he fell into bed.

" Well what do you want to do now?" He asked me. I shrugged not really caring.

"Then let's go out  and grab a bite," Alan said and with that we got up to get ready.
