chapter 17

I woke up early to an alarm and groaned. Unfortunately I had to work today. I knew the boys were going on tour soon and honestly I didn't want to work. I kissed Alan after I had finished getting ready and scribbled a note for Evan so she wouldn't be surprised when I wasn't here.

"Have a good day okay? When you and I get back we can house hunt if you want," Alan said. I nodded and scurried out the door. I didn't have my own car yet so I was using Alan's. I use it more than he does so it has become my car in a way. The shop was only down the road but I still had to come in early and do inventory.

"Good morning gorgeous!" Jess yelled at me from the front.

"Morning boss man!" I said using the name that she hated.

"Keep that up and you aren't getting your bonus!" she joked back as I grabbed my clipboard. I only worked till one today and it was eight now so the hours weren't bad.

"Where did that red dress go we had in the back?" I asked as it was virtually the last thing I had to check.

"Oh some girl bought it for a friend," Jess said vaguely. I smiled knowing she bought it for me. Jess was like the non-dramatic sister I never had.

"Okay then. We need to order five black Tripp dresses and six of these," I said pointing at the clipboard. She was already clicking away on the computer. Very few costumers came in today and by the time work was done we had only seen two people.

"Take off. Natalie will be here soon. Give my love to Alan and Evan," Jess said. I smiled and practically ran out. I checked my phone to see that Alan had texted me a couple times just updating me on what was going on in the studio and that he would be home soon. When I got home I collapsed in bed. I was still tired from yesterday and no one was home so it was quiet. I didn't really sleep but I did just lay there and relax. About an hour later I heard voices downstairs but I couldn't find the strength to get up. Austin and Evans voices floated up to me. They were civil at first but turned harsh. Alan rushed in quickly shutting the door behind him so that the noise was blocked out. He knows how much this bothers me.

"Hey beautiful. Find any good houses yet?" He asked me with a gentle smile.

"No but to be fair I haven't started looking yet," I said with a yawn. He giggled and jumped into bed with me. It was obvious that the boys were going on tour soon. Alan was becoming handsy and he was around more. These things only happened before they left.

"Well why don't we go make some lunch and then We can start our hunt?" Alan suggested.

"Okay babe," I said and let him lead me downstairs. We were greeted by a puffy faced Evan and Austin was no where to be found.

"Everything okay?" I stopped to ask Evan and hug her.

"Yeah," she said monotonously.

"You sure you didn't have a fight?" I asked letting her know that I saw through her face.

"Yeah," she said in the same tone as before. I smiled and shrugged and walked into the kitchen to find that Alan had already started the food. I threw this mornings dirty doges in the kitchen sink and soon enough Alan was behind me.

"Take a deep breath it's all going to be okay," he said while rubbing circles on my back as a way of comfort.

" I know but seeing them tear each other apart tears me apart," I said. Alan handed me a bowl of Mac n cheese and we headed upstairs. Instead of house hunting we just turned on the tv and ate in silence. I was constantly having flashbacks to the way life was with Michael. True Evan and Austin's relationship wasn't as abusive physically as mine it was getting there mentally.

----------------------------------------------2 weeks later.

"WHAT DOES SAM MEAN BY THAT EVAN?" I screamed as she ran out of the house. She had one final fight with Austin when we found out that there were some girls helping record but everything had pretty much been peaceful now. That all changed when Sam dropped this bombshell on us and we were all scared.

"Did he really just say her dad is threatening her because I'll kill that bastard before he gets to her," Alan said. He was so mad he was seizing.

"Yes that's exactly what he said. Austin mentioned police?" I said blocking the door so Alan wouldn't go storming through it. We watched out the window as Austin and Evan got in the car and left for the station. So much had happened in such a little time I was I shock.

"We can't leave them now Alan. they need us more than ever now,"

I said referring to our current situation of trying to move.

"yeah we gotta stay here. Dear god I hope nothing happens while we are gone," Alan said.

"Me too," I said
