A week has passed now and Alan and I have gone out almost every night. Austin and I got Evans mom's funeral squared away and Alan decided to take me shopping. It was cooler now and the leaves were beginning to change. Fall was my favorite time of year and it seemed fleeting. Evan had begun to wake up and at least interact although it was silent most of the time. I viewed it as progress. I just hope the whole funeral thing isn't too stressful. Alan had music on but it was turned down.

"What are you thinking about beautiful?" He asked me. I smiled over at him. He always knew when there was something on my mind.

"Just Evan. I'm worried this is all too stressful," I told him. He shook his head and laid his free hand on mine.

"If it was too much we would know it. Trust me she may be quiet but when she is fed up with something she let's you know," Alan said while pulling into the parking lot of the mall.

"So a dress for you and Evan," He asked me  I nodded and got out of the car. It wasn't like Alan to want to shop for cloths but I guess everyone needs a break from the tension in that house. I smiled as we walked in to the mall. There were so many stores to look at but I just walked into wet seal hoping they had something Evan could wear. The funeral was tomorrow after all and even though I didn't know her mother I could tell that she will be missed. The whole thought put me in a somber mood.

"Found it!" I said snaching the skin tight dress she had tried on lastime she was here. I had a dress I could wear at home and it didn't occur to me untill now.

"And on clearence what a steal," Alan said mockingly. I stuck my toung out at him making him laugh. He caught me off gaurd by pulling me in for a kiss. It only lasted two seconds at most but it was lovely all the same. He paid for it and we headed out of the store.

"Come on lets go get a starbucks," He said pulling me down the corridor. I followed knowing that they had Apple spice lattes at this time of year. Honestly the entire fall season was coming to a close and I just haddn't realized it.  Evan hadn't gone back to school and honestly I don't think she is going to. I sat down at a table and let Alan order for me. He was so sweet that way. His red hair was short and I liked it this way. He wore sunglasses even though we were inside the building and his nose ring was noticeable. A mother  pulled her young kid out of the shop making me chuckle.

"What's funny?" Alan asked returing to me a smile painted on his lips.

"That lady that was in front of you scoffed and pulled her kid out of the store when she saw us," I said. He chuckled too.

"So can I tell you something without you getting mad?" He asked me. I could feel the blood drain from my face and I simply nodded. I hated bad news and conversations that start like this. They always lead to no good.

"So um about a month after tomorrow we are touring again," He told me. I felt relived almost. I thought he was going to say he was cheating on me. I nervously laughed and took a sip of my coffee.

"I thought you were giong to tell me you cheated," I said after regaining myself.

"Well I'd never do that so.." He said.

"Has Austin told Evan?" I wondered aloud. Alan shook his head and I nodded. She didn't need this on top of all the stress going on.

"We should get back don't you think?" I said after finishing my tall late. He stood up holding out his hand.

"Such the gentalmen today," I said to him. He smiled and pulled me in closer slipping his hand in my back pocket and mine in his. A couple people smiled at us and an elderly woman told us we were the cutest thing she has seen since her grandaughter got married. It's the little things, that restore my faith in the world. We got home around five and I went straight into Evans room. I was suprised to see the door closed and to hear her talking.
