Chapter 10

MARIA'S POV

What time is it? Oh. It's only 10am. The only reason why I'm up this early is because I went to sleep at 11pm.

I don't hear anyone. They must be still sleeping.

Oh my god! I can't believe that we're in Orlando! Oh my god, what if I meet Toby?! I mean... uh.. Before You Exit. What if I see BYE?! Okay, I know, I know. It's useless to deny it. Toby has been stuck in my head ever since Vinny's graduation. The thought of him gives me butterflies. And whenever I'm watching videos of BYE, I get the butterflies when Toby says something or sings a solo. And I haven't even met him face to face! I thought this was just a celebrity crush. Maybe it's just a big one. I don't even know. Well, I guess what's meant to be will find its way.

Okay. Lets change the subject. I'm hungry. I should probably go downstairs and eat. Okay. We have.... bagels, waffles, toaster strudel, muffin tops. Carbs, carbs, and carbs. I'll just have one of my fiber bars and a yogurt.

"Hey."

I jumped.

"Jesus guys. You scared the living fuck out of me." I said.

"Sorry." Jenna and Kristina said while getting a fiber bar and a yogurt. They're such copiers.

"So. We were wondering if you wanted help with your skateboarding?" they asked.

Jenna and Kristina taught themselves how to skateboard before we left. They got the hang of it the first time they tried. I'm just a slow learner.

"Sure. I was just gonna go in the garage and practice." I said.

"Ugh. Can we go outside?" Kristina asked.

"Yeah." Jenna said.

"No. What if someone was watching us?" I asked.

"So?" they asked.

'SO, I don't like it when people watch me do something. Whenever people stare, or even look, at me, I feel like they're picking out the flaws in me." I mumbled.

"What flaws?" they asked.

"Oh my god, guys. We have this conversation everyday, no matter who it's about. Can we please just practice in the garage?" I asked.

"Fine. But only because we love you and its obvious that we are not gonna change your mind."

Now, an hour later, I finally got the hang of it. I'm actually really good at skateboarding now. So, the girls and I decided to go exploring on our skateboards to see what's around. Mom was up and only let us go if we all had our phones, Dad was at work, and Vinny was either still sleeping or playing one of his games downstairs. Since Dad got the promotion, he's been working Saturdays too. He doesn't get home until like 7 or 8pm, but his job is supposed to end at 6pm and its like 10 minutes away from the house. I think that he's meeting with Kaitlin. The girls and Vinny do too.

But I'll worry about that later. Now, we're going to have fun.

About five minutes into our exploration we found a Starbucks.

"YESS! PRAISE THE LORD!" Kristina shouted.

Jenna and I were laughing so hard.

"Let's go get something." Jenna said.

"Okay."

Once we walked in Jenna, Kristina, and I yelled, "MAMA'S HOME!"

The customers and staff either laughed at us or gave us weird looks. Well, nothing's new.

We all got our usuals, me getting my Caramel Frap with a pinch of strawberry, Jenna getting her Mocha Cookie Crumble Frap, and Kristina getting her Vanilla Bean Frap. This is literally our favorite place.

Then, we paid and left. I saw a park nearby a decided to skate over. We picked a spot in the grass, laid our skateboards down, and sat.

"Hey guys." I said.

"Yeah?" they answered.

"Well, about Toby, I get butterflies from the thought of him and when I'm watching the videos I feel weird inside. And I haven't even met him." I said.

"That just says that you really like him." Kristina said.

"Yeah." Jenna said.

"What about you guys? Do you feel that way about any of the boys?" I asked.

"Riley and Connor." Kristina said.

"Braiden, Connor, and Thomas." Jenna said.

"I kinda feel that way about Riley too." I said.

"Dear Lord. These boys are driving us crazy and we haven't even met them in person yet." Kristina said.

"Yup." Jenna and I said.

"Hey look! There's a mall and movie theater!" I said.

"Leggo!" Kristina said.

The mall was huge. There was even another Starbucks in it! There was a Panera too. And it had all the store that the girls and I like, Delia's, American Eagle, Khol's, and sometimes Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe. We were all around the same size so we share clothes and shoes all the time. But, we have different taste in clothes. Kristina has a tomboy/edgy style, Jenna has a girly style, and I have a tomboy/girly style. We still share our clothes though.

"Let's go into Delia's!" Jenna said.

We are such girls when we shop. Luckily, we each controlled ourselves so we only got one shirt, one pair of shorts, and one pair of shoes.

"What time is it?" Kristina asked.

"Shit. It's 4:30. We're supposed to have dinner with our neighbors at 5."

"Fuck. Let's go!"

"We're lucky this is casual, not some fancy dinner that we would have to change." Jenna said.

"Yeah. But we have to touch up our hair and makeup." I said.

"Yeah. But that will take 10 minutes at most." Kristina said.

"True. Well, at least the house is 15 minutes away. So, we should get home at like 4:45. It'll take us longer because of our bags. And then it will take us 10 minutes to get ready, 4:55. So we should make the time perfectly." Jenna said.

"Yup. But still, let's hurry!" I said.

Kristina, Jenna, and I touched up our makeup and fixed our hair. Now it's time to go ((their outfits are on the side->)).

"Wow. They literally live next door. And one of their windows is right next to mine too." I said.

"Yup. Lucky you if it's a cute boy!" Jenna whispered to me.

I giggled.

ring ring.

"Hi Sue!" the lady answering the door said.

"Hi Joan! It's nice to see you again! Thank for inviting us!" Mom said.

"No problem! My children should be down any minute." the lady said.

Why isn't Mom introducing us? Something's going on here.

Three boys came down the steps. God, they were cute. They look familiar too.

Wait.

"Holy fucking shit." Jenna, Kristina, and I whispered.

WE ARE IN BEFORE YOU EXIT'S HOUSE!

"Hey. I'm Riley."

"I'm Connor."

"And I'm Toby."

I dropped my phone and along with Kristina and Jenna, my mouth dropped.

"Hey. I'm Vinny."

"Kristina."

"I'm Maria."

"And I'm Jenna."

"Well girls. I am honestly surprised. You haven't freaked out yet." Mom said.

"Yeah. You said your daughter and her friends were huge fans." Joan said.

"They are. They're just in shock. Once we leave you'll hear them screaming." Mom mumbled.

"Mom." I said.

"What. It's true." she said.

I rolled my eyes.

"You guys are fans?" Riley asked.

"Uhm.. uh... yeah. We are." I said.

"Wow. I don't know about these other two idiots, but I like you guys already. Well, we all love fans that don't try to attack us when they see us." Connor said.

"Yeah. Trust me." Toby mumbled.

"Boys, go bring the girls and boy somewhere because dinner isn't ready yet. Keep them entertained." Joan said while walking further into the kitchen with Mom.

"Wanna go in the basement?" Riley asked.

"Yeah. We have a wonderful television set and XBOX and toilet down there." Toby said.

We all giggled.

"Hey look. Little Tobster's getting the girls." Connor said while smirking which just made us laugh even more. Toby just gave Connor a death glare.

"Alright! Everyone follow the Riley!" Riley shouted and we all followed Riley downstairs.

"Okay. So what do you guys wanna do?" Toby asked.

"How about 20 questions?" Connor asked.

"Okay." we all said.

"Okay. So we take turns asking the questions and everyone including the person who asked has to answer the question. Okay?" Connor asked.

"Okay."

"I'll go first. Then Maria, Jenna, Kristina, Vinny, Toby, then Connor." Riley said.

"How come I get to go last?" Connor fake whined.

"Because you're the oldest..... right?" Toby asked.

"Yeah." the girls, Vinny, and I said.

"Okay. How are you?" Riley asked.

"14." I said.

"16." Jenna said.

"15." Kristina said.

"13." Vinny said.

"15." Toby said.

"19." Connor said.

"17." Riley said.

"Okay. What's your favorite color?"

"Lavender." Jenna said.

"Red." Kristina said.

"Purple." Vinny said.

"Green." Toby said.

"Orange." Connor said.

"Yellow." Riley said.

"Blue." I said.

After about a half hour of that, the boys learned my age, favorite color, full name, sport, style, favorite thing to do, thing I just learned to do, if I ever had a boyfriend(Riley asked that...?), favorite number, birthday, favorite song, favorite band, and favorite artist.

Now we're upstairs eating dinner. Joan and Mom were at the head of the table, and the girls and I were on one side while the boys were on the other.

"So," Mom began," Did the girls try to kidnap you yet?"

"Mom!" the girls and I said.

"No they didn't. They were very good company." Connor said.

"Yeah." Riley and Toby said.

"So, your husband is still at work?" Joan asked Mom.

"Yes." Mom said.

"Mine too."

We fell into an awkward silence for the next few minutes.

Boy, this ravioli that Joan made is delicious. Oh, and yes, she already said that we could call her Joan, and Mom said that they could call her Sue.

"Maria?" Mom asked.

"Huh? What?" I asked.

"Joan asked if you do a sport."

"Oh. Sorry. I guess I was in my own world. And yes. I do track and basketball." I said.

"Wow. What about you guys?" Joan asked Jenna, Kristina, and Vinny.

"I do basketball." Jenna said.

"I do soccer and tennis." Kristina said.

"And I do soccer too." Vinny said.

"We don't play a sport on a team, but we do know how to play basketball and soccer." Riley said.

Connor and Toby nodded their heads in agreement.

CONNOR'S POV

Jesus. Riley was practically drooling over Maria, and she didn't even notice! I mean, they're all gorgeous, really. But Maria and Kristina are too young for me.

Okay. Riley was drooling now. If I don't stop this now Maria's gonna notice. So, I kicked Riley under the table, since he was in the middle of Toby and I.

He looked over at me and mouthed 'ow! what the hell?!'

I nodded my head over in Maria's direction.

He nodded his head in Jenna's direction.

That shut us both up. Toby didn't seem interested in Maria too. But I could tell that he was trying to push his feelings down. Oh God, this can't be good.

"Can I see all of your guys' phones?" I asked.

"Sure." they all said and passed them over to me.

I put my number in all of their contacts. I put my name as 'connorrr:)'

I passed them to Riley.

He put his name as 'rileyyy!:*'

Riley passed the phones to Toby, who put his name as 'tobayyy;))'

"Okay. Now we need your guys' phones." Kristina said.

"Okay." we passed them to Maria.

She put her name in as 'the bestest person ever;)', Jenna put her name as 'jennaa>>', Kristina put her name as 'my main bitch:)', and Vinny just put his name as 'vinnyc:'

Then they had to go. We all walked them out.

"Hey look Toby! Your window is across from that room!" Riley said.

"That's Maria's room!" Jenna and Kristina yelled.

Toby and Maria just chuckled and shook their heads.

"Well, I'll see you guys soon." Mom said.

"Yup. Thanks for having us." Sue said.

"No problem! It was a lot of fun!" Mom said.

Sue smiled and said," Good. So, bye!"

"Bye!" all of us said.

RILEY'S POV

Oh my God. Maria is absolutely gorgeous. I can't believe that she's my neighbor. Her friends are beautiful too, but there's something special about her. She just has the most amazing smile. And the way she blushes when you compliment her is adorable.

"Hello? Earth to Riley?" Toby said.

"What?"

"What were you thinking about?"

"Oh.. nothing."

"Hey, you were thinking about one of the girls, weren't you?!"

"Maybe.."

"Was it Maria?"

"Is it that obvious?"

"Yeah. You were practically drooling over her at dinner. I'm surprised she didn't notice."

"Shut up. You were probably thinking about one of them too."

"Not really. But if I was, it would be Maria to be honest. I mean she's beautiful. Well, I don't know. Jenna, Kristina, and Maria are all insanely pretty."

TOBY'S POV

"Not really. But if I was, it would be Maria to be honest. I mean she's beautiful. Well, I don't know. Jenna, Kristina, and Maria are all insanely pretty." I said. Hopefully that covered it up. I was thinking about Maria. But she's too good for me. She's better off with Riley.

Well, there is that girl Kaitlin I met yesterday at the mall. I really like her. Maybe I'll ask her out. I mean, we traded numbers. But what about Maria? Maybe I just need to get another girl to forget about her.

To: Kaitlin:)

well, I wanted to ask you something...

well, will you go out with me?

I decided that I was gonna take her to the carnival tomorrow. I hope she'll like it. I'm just gonna tell the boys now. They were both downstairs.

"Hey guys." I said.

"Hey." the replied.

"Okay, so I'm taking Kaitlin on a date to the carnival tomorrow at 9am."

They stared at me for a second, then jumped up and lunged at me while screaming, "OUR LITTLE TOBSTER IS GROWING UP!"

"Ugh. Guys stop!," I said while I walked back up the steps and to my room. I'm going to bed early tonight, if I'll be able to sleep. Maria is still stuck in my head but she can have Riley.

RILEY'S POV

Yes! Now I can get Maria! Okay, I know that sounded mean, but I really like her, and Toby isn't ugly and he's the closest to her age. I'm honestly worried that he's gonna steal her. Hopefully he won't since he's taking that Kaitlin girl on a date tomorrow.

"Do you think he really likes Kaitlin?" I asked Connor.

"Honestly? No. I think that he's just pushing his feelings down for an unknown reason."

"I hope not. I really like Maria."

"God help us. This is the first time that Riley and Toby both like the same girl."

"Please, once Thomas and Braiden meet the girls you guys will be fighting over Jenna or they'll be fighting over Kristina, and you know it."

"Whatever."

"I'm going to bed. Goodnight Connie."

"Haha. Night RiRi."

I stuck my tongue out at him as I walked up the stairs. We all hated out nicknames, Connie, RiRi, and Tobster. But it's fun to call each other the names.

So, my game plan is to get to know Maria more before I ask her out. It would be creepy if I asked her out tomorrow. That's it! I'll ask them to have a movie night with us. GENIUUUSSSS!

Well, I'll ask Mom tomorrow. For now, I need to get some rest.

CONNOR'S POV

God, we just met these girls and all three of us are already falling hard for them. Unbelievable. But, seriously, how could we not. They all have amazing personalities and are all beautiful. And they differ from each other in so many ways. Well, you know what they say, opposites attract.

But, I think that Jenna stands out from Kristina and Maria. It's just her sweet voice, and the way she's so kind. And when we looks down to hide her face when she's embarrassed is so cute!

Okay, I really have to sleep before my thoughts about Jenna get so deep that I'll be up all night thinking about her.

MARIA'S POV

"Oh my god! I can't believe that THE Before You Exit are our neighbors! And did you see Toby!? Oh my god, he's just so... so.. much more perfect in person." I said.

The girls and I were in Kristina's bedroom talking about the dinner.

"Yeah, but to be honest, he didn't seem interested in you, or any of us for that matter." Kristina said.

"I know. But Connor was like staring at you Jenna!" I said.

"Yeah. But Riley was literally drooling over you!" Jenna said.

"Wow. I feel left out." Kristina said.

"Don't worry. They'll most likely introduce us to Thomas and Braiden and one of them will definitely fall for you. I can feel it in my gut." Jenna said.

"Whatever." Kristina said and they both laughed.

Toby really isn't into me. He deserves better than me anyway. He's too good for me.

Great, now I'm starting to cry and the girls are noticing it. They came right over to me.

I repeated my last thought, "He really doesn't like me. He's deserves better than me anyway. He's too good for me. I mean, who would want to be with me?" I cried into my knees.

"If Toby doesn't like you than that's his loss. Any boy would be an ass to not like you." Jenna said.

"Yeah. And I know who does like you." Kristina said while smirking."

"Riley." Jenna said.

"So?" I said.

"SO, you said you kinda like him. And by the way he was looking at you, you could definitely tell that he's into you. So, he'll take your mind off of Toby. Just remember, what's meant to be will find its way. If you and Toby are meant to be, you'll be." Jenna said.

"Okay."

We kinda just sat there in silence until my phone rang. The caller id said 'your bestest friend'.

"Who is it?" the girls asked.

"Jeremy." I said while answering the phone and putting it on speaker.

"Hey gurl." Jeremy said.

"Hey." I said, I was still kinda crying. Uh oh.

"Are you crying?" he asked.

"I was but the girls helped me. Your on speaker by the way."

"Okay. Anyway, can you guys meet me at the mall tomorrow? it's important. Besides, I know where you guys live. I saw the moving truck."

"You saw the moving truck?" Jenna asked.

"Yeah. I moved here a few days earlier with Kaitlin, remember?" he asked.

"Oh, yeah." we said.

"Okay. So can you?" Jeremy asked.

"Yeah. But how do you know that it's the right mall?" I asked.

"Well, you guys live on the dead end, next to the BYE guys. I live at the beginning of the street in the yellow and red house."

"How did you know we live next to the guys?" Kristina asked.

"I was outside getting the mail and I saw them outside and I saw you guys in the garage."

"That explains all of it." I said.

"So did you meet them?"

"Yeah. Just came home from their house." Kristina said while I became teary eyed again.

"Okay, Maria, you're crying over one of those guys and I bet it's Toby. I swear to God if he or the other two, Riley and Connor I think their names are, hurts any of you three I will hurt them." Jeremy said going all older-brother on us.

"You can have fun with that." we said.

"Haha. So the mall at 11 tomorrow morning?" he asked.

"Okay. We'll meet you by the front door." I said.

"Okay. See you guys tomorrow!" he said.

"Bye!" we all said as I hung up my phone.

"We should go to bed." I said.

"Yeah. Goodnight!" Kristina said.

"Goodnight!" Jenna and I said as we walked into our rooms.

So this is chapter 10! I hope you like it! So, from now on, I'll be posting the girls' outfits for the chapter so you can get to know their personalities better.
