TOBY'S POV

I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard someone getting up. When I felt warmth leave my arms, I knew it was Maria. I wonder where she was going.

I dared to peek open an eye and saw Maria putting on her shoes and a jacket. What is she doing?

I almost got up to stop her, but figured it was better to see if she'd accidently spill where she was going or give me any clues whatsoever.

My heart stopped when I heard the one thing she muttered, 'I'm coming for you Momma and Poppa.'

It took all the force I could to keep myself in place. I was going to follow her. It was better to not wake the rest up and get into a big fight.

Maria snuck out and I copied the way she took.

I tiptoed behind her until she reached the street. Maria called out Kaitlin's name. They appeared behind her. Well, us.

I heard the whole entire conversation and saw everything.

I had no clue what to do. Do I step in now? Or do I wait?

Again, I decided to hold myself back. I would just follow them.

But then, reality hit me.

My ex-girlfriend is a demon. Maria's step-dad is a demon. Tess and Kylie are demons. Demons. They're all demons. DEMONS

Oh my God, I think I'm hyperventilating. I can't believe that I know four demons. Actual demons from hell. This was unbelievable.

Wait... there has to be a reason why freaking demons want the band and I...

What is that? Question 1,342,454? More specifically, unanswered question 1,342,454?

Ugh, I'm definitely going to pass out.

Okay, snap out of it, Toby, they're moving again.

The four demons put Maria in a van. I sprinted across the street and ducked in. I sent a text to Riley and the others, telling them my location, but also telling them to think before they move. I hope they decide to listen to it.

About 10 minutes later, the truck came to a sharp halt. I had to bite my tongue to cut of my groan of pain when I flew against the side of the truck. Then, realizing that one of them was going to appear in the back any second, I quickly hid myself under a blanket I found. Plus, it was dark out and I was wearing dark clothes, so hopefully I wasn't that noticeable.

I heard laughing that was growing louder with each second. It wasn't human laughing. It had to of been a demon laugh, I guess. The doors suddenly swung open and a demon appeared. I had no clue who it was, they looked so different in their demon form. But if I had to take a lucky guess, it was Tess.

"Get her out of there!" I heard someone yell.

Tess climbed into the truck and dragged Maria out. I literally had to restrain myself from launching my body at Tess, who viciously pulled Maria to the edge of the truck. I swear I'm not going to last this trip.

Then, when Tess slammed the doors shut, I snatched my phone out of my pocket.

22 missed calls, 60 text messages.

I made the choice to call Connor, who answered before the first ring even started.

"What the hell were you thinking?!" Connor screamed into the phone.

"Shhh! I don't know if they can hear you!" I whispered, covering the speaker thingy with my hand.

I heard everyone start screaming in the background. Luckily, Connor shushed them. For the first time in forever, the group was quiet.
