MARIA'S POV
I just can't believe that Toby got us tickets to see Rascal Flatts, and especially just for our first date. It was so over the top, though I'm so grateful. At least he didn't get tickets to see something he didn't like; Toby and I both adore Rascal Flatts.
Although we looked a little odd, riding our skateboards around all dressed up, but you know what they say, yolo. Plus Connor already called the car for him and Jenna and Toby and I can't drive yet. We both have our learner's permits and we should be driving by next spring. Riley and Kris ended up using their skateboards also because Momma and Poppa had the other car.
"You really didn't have to do this." I told Toby as we rode to the venue.
"You wanna go back?" Toby asked, a playful gleam appearing in his eyes.
"Of course not! It's just a really big thing for our first date."
"Well if you think about it, it's not really our first date. I took you out to see the sunrise this morning."
I rolled my eyes. "But--"
"No buts," Toby intercepted, "Just stop saying that and have fun." He said, smiling at the last part.
I smiled. "Okay."
Toby grabbed my hand and we rode the rest of the way to the venue like that, holding hands. We gained lots of sweet and admiring and wishful smiles from the townspeople, whether they were from a senior citizen or a little girl. And, we smiled back and waved with our free hand with every smile we noticed.
"I wanna be like them one day." We heard one little girl tell her mother.
Toby whispered something into my ear. My eyes brightened as I agreed with his idea.
Fortunately, there was a flower shop nearby.
Toby and I hopped off of our skateboards and sprinted inside.
"Hello. How can I help you?" The old lady at the counter sweetly asked us.
"Yes. Can we have one yellow daisy?" I asked.
"That'll be 5 dollars please." the woman said.
I handed her a five dollar bill and catching on to our rushing, the lady quickly gave us the flower.
Toby and I ran back outside and spotted the girl.
We smiled at each other and walked over to her.
"It's you!" The girl exclaimed while holding her mother's hand.
"May I?' Toby politely asked the mother.
Her mother nodded, beaming at us.
Toby kneeled down in front of the girl. He gave her the daisy.
"You will find someone one day, I promise." Toby told the girl.
She took the daisy and wrapped her arms around him. Toby immediately hugged her back.
I snapped a picture and put it on Twitter with the caption, 'he is the sweetest'
The girl let go of Toby and she was beaming, along with her mother.
Toby went back to his normal position and slightly nodded at her mother.
"Excuse me?" the mother quietly called.
Toby and I turned.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Thank you so much, for making my daughter happy. I really appreciate it." the mother said, tears forming in her eyes.
