Chapter 31

****JEREMY'S POV****

The guys and I went back home after sleeping on the floor with Jenna, Kris, and Maria. I still can't believe that Maria cut herself. Toby is going to pay for this big time.

"What do we do now?" I asked the guys the next morning.

"We go home and wait for Toby. By the way, I recorded Maria's reaction when she realized he left when she woke up and I secretly took a picture of her when we got there after Kris called. He has a soft heart and hates it when girls cut themselves. This'll help get him to feel guilty. I know it's bad, but he deserves it. But first we have to let him explain." Connor said.

"Okay." the rest of us replied.

We walked into the McDonough's house and sat on the couch. It was 11am. Toby would be coming home soon. He needs to shower. Whenever he doesn't shower for more than two nights he starts freaking out. Last night was two nights. He's bound to come back today.

I have no clue how long we all sat there, consumed by our own thoughts but Toby's figure finally appeared through the door..... with Kaitlin.

Connor and Riley walked right up to them.

Riley said, "Kaitlin, you need to leave. We need to speak with Toby. After that we'll decide whether or not you're welcome in our home."

"You can't tell her what to do. She's with me." Toby defended.

"Yes, we can. I don't know if you forgot, but Mom and Dad left for their vacation last night. And they left me in charge. I agree with Toby. Please leave, Kaitlin." Connor said.

Kaitlin glared at him at Riley, then the rest of us, then stomped out the door.

"What the hell was that about?!" Toby exclaimed.

"Come over here and sit. We need to talk. And if you don't want to, I'll just let the boys beat you up. It was my decision to let you explain. Your choice."

"Fine. Kaitlin is my girlfriend. I love her. And Maria chose you and Riley over me, so I chose Kaitlin over her."

"When did Maria choose Riley and Connor over you?" Braiden asked.

"She didn't even give me a chance to ask her out."

"Well Riley asked her out as soon as he met her basically, and then when they broke up, Connor convinced her to go out with him. She never chose them over you. You just never got the chance to ask her." I said.

"Leave it up to you to defend her." Toby mumbled.

That was it. This kid's an asswipe.

I got up and into his face.

"You broke my best friend. You left with the person that knocked her unconscious. She trusted you, only to have her heart broken in pieces. She never let any boy as close as she did you, not even me, and this is the thanks she gets. You shattered her. She will never be the same. She will have trust issues. She might even push every boy away from her, including us. You ruined her chance of having a boy as a friend. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"She deserved it."

"Connor, show the video and picture before I break every bone in his body." I said through clenched teeth.

Connor quickly came over and showed Toby the video.

All I could hear was Maria screaming and sobbing that Toby left her. It was torturous. Once her sobs stopped, I knew Connor was showing Toby the pictures of the girls.

I looked over at his reaction. His eyes were teary. Then, he burst into tears and ran out the door.

"Dickhead deserved it." I mumbled while the guys smirked.
