MARIA'S POV
It's been a week and a half since Jenna, Kris, and I have been attacked and a week since we've, well I've, been out of the hospital. School starts tomorrow. Because of the accident we never went school shopping so Jenna, Kris, Mom, Vinny, and I are going now. Apparently she's taking Vinny off and the girls and I can go on our on. I don't know, she's been kind of distant lately. Whatever.
"YOU READY?!" I yelled up to the rest of my family (including Jenna and Kristina).
"COMING!" they all replied back. God, they're so much alike.
"Okay, so we'll go to the mall for your dresses and button down shirt and khakis, and to the Staples nearby for the supplies." Mom said as we walked out the door.
"Okay." we all replied.
Okay, so this new school we're going to, Orlando High School, makes the girls wear casual dresses and the boys wear button down shirts and khakis. Why? I don't know, but it's weird.
-
I don't know why, but we didn't find dresses in Delia's. As we were walking around looking for Forever 21 we found this store called Wet Seal. It was a weird name but the clothes looked cute.
"Let's check it out." Kris said as we walked towards Wet Seal.
-
Jenna, Kris, and I ended up getting our dresses there, and some shopping done. Now we had to get the supplies. Ugh. Staples here we come.
-
Once we finally got home it was about 5:30, since we left at 12:30 and we didn't find anything in Delia's, and Forever 21 and Delia's were on completely different sides of the mall, and the mall is humongous. So yeah, now we were ordering Chinese food, my favorite.
-
Once we were done, the girls and I went up to our rooms to change into our dresses so we could decide on shoes and accessories.
"It looks amazing, Smiley." someone said.
I turned around to see the person I was least expecting.
"Thanks." I replied sheepishly, then looked down to hide my blush.
"You're gorgeous and will have all the boys at your feet. Seriously."
I blushed harder, which I thought was impossible because my cheeks were probably already as red as blood.
He chuckled, "Well if you look that good in your dress, Jenna and Kris must look beautiful also and that means that they too will have all the boys at their feet."
"They do. Why are you saying all of this, Toby?"
"Because it's true and I needed to say it. It's what I've thought the minute I saw you girls."
I blushed. Again.
"Okay, even though I enjoy making you blush I wanted to know if you and the girls wanted to walk with us to school tomorrow?"
"Of course. What time does it start?"
"7:30."
"Okay, and it's a 15 minute walk, so we'll meet you outside at 7:15?"
"Perfect." Toby said as he looked down and fixed his SnapBack.
Just then the girls burst through my door all dressed up.
As soon as Kris saw Toby and both of our windows open, she said, "Were you watching her get dressed?!"
"NO!" Toby and I exclaimed.
"I walked into my room to get my phone when I saw Maria looking in the mirror. Then I said she looked amazing and would have all the boys at her feet. Then I said that if she looked that beautiful that you and Jenna would also look gorgeous and would have all the boys at your feet. Last, we planned to walk to school together tomorrow." Toby explained.
"Well, thanks." Jenna said.
"Yeah, thanks."
"You guys. It's the truth. You all are gorgeous."
All of us blushed.
Now it's my turn to make him blush.
"You must look pretty cute all dressed up too, Toby." I said, smirking.
He looked shocked.
I looked at the girls and nodded. Then we all screamed, "HOTTIE ALERT!"
That made him blush.
"Awh, you're so cute when you blush!" we all said simultaneously again.
This made him blush even more.
"Well, we gotta go decide on makeup, so we'll talk to you later cutie!" Jenna said.
"See ya boy!" Kris said.
"Later hottie!" I said. I wanted to have a little more fun with this so I winked at Toby.
"See you guys tomorrow hotties!" he decided to return the favor. Then, he winked back at me as he closed his window and the blinds.
"What a cutie." Kris said.
"Definitely. He's adorable." I said.
"Agreed." Jenna said.
************
*(first day of school)*
DO YOU EVER THINK, WHEN YOU'RE ALL ALONE, ALL THAT WE CAN BE, WHERE THIS THING CAN GO? AM I CRAZY OR FALLING IN LOVE? IS IT REAL OR JUST ANOTHER CRUSH?
my alarm played Crush by David Archuleta as I groggily sat up and looked at the clock. 6:30am. Ugh. I hate getting up so early. Hopefully this'll be a good year. I'm so not taking any crap from anyone.
With that thought, I hopped out of bed and began getting ready.
-
"We're going mom!" I yelled up as Jenna, Kris, and I walked out the door. Why isn't Vinny with us? Oh yeah. Because he begged Mom to go to a different school, where his new friends go. I like never see him. He practically lives at his friend Christian's house. I don't think they're the best influence, but that's his choice, not mine.
Moving on, the girls and I walked outside, protein bars in hand.
We gasped. All six (Jeremy) boys were there, talking and laughing in front of my house. We froze. They were stunning. Jeremy had on a light purple button down shirt with khakis and dress shoes. His hair was spiked in the front. Thomas had on a light yellow button down shirt with khakis and Sperrys. His hair was as usual, because it was short so he couldn't do anything with it. Braiden was wearing a light red button down shirt with khakis and Sperrys. His hair was tousled in a fancy but casual way. Riley was wearing a light orange button down shirt with khakis and dress shoes. He had his hair tousled too. Toby was wearing a light blue button down shirt with khakis and black Vans. His hair was combed, and he didn't have his SnapBack on so he looked a little different. Connor had on a light green button down shirt with khakis and dark grey Vans. His hair was also combed.
I closed the door a little too hard, so all six heads turned towards the girls and I. Their jaws literally dropped. Just then, a breeze came in our direction, pulling our hair out of our faces. We then walked to the boys, hair blowing behind us. This was such a big and awkward coincidence and so cliché. When they still didn't say anything when we reached them I snapped my fingers loudly.
"What?" they all said.
"You guys were staring..." Jenna trailed.
"Sorry. It's just that you guys are gorgeous." Jeremy said while the rest immediately nodded in agreement.
The girls and I looked down and blushed.
Just then a light bulb clicked in my head. Since I was in the middle of the girls, I tapped them both, then nodded. We were going to do the same thing we did to Toby last night, just a little different.
We grinned then sucked in a big breath. Toby rolled his eyes as he knew what was coming.
Then, we screamed, "HOTTIES HOTTIES EVERYWHERE I'M HAPPY THEY'RE NOT RARE! THE WAY THE WALK, THEY WAY THEY TALK, THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO BE STALKED!"
The boys looked at us with weird faces then they burst out laughing, followed by the girls and I.
I decided to take my copying Toby a little further. I love this, it's so fun.
"You guys. It's the truth." I said, then winked at Toby.
"Well it's the truth that you three are gorgeous." Toby replied, then copying me, he winked back at me.
I rolled my eyes and said , "Leggo to school and we'll finish this convo later because we're gonna be late!"
-
We walked into school just on time. We went into the office which had four separate lines for schedule. Obviously, they were freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior.
Toby, Jenna, Kris, and I went into the sophomore line, Riley and Jeremy in the junior, and Connor, Braiden, and Thomas in the senior.
Okay. I know you're confused about the ages. Let me explain. Okay so my mom sent me into school a year earlier than she was supposed to, which is why I'm 14 and a sophomore. Jenna is a sophomore because she got held back in kindergarten. Connor and Riley also got held back. And yes, Jeremy is a year older than the girls and I. How did I meet him? Well one day in Vermont we were walking home when it started raining. Then, he pulled over and offered us a ride. Then, it became part of the schedule, him driving us home.
"Maria?" Toby said.
"Yeah?"
"Come on. We're up. You can stop thinking about me now." Toby said then smirked.
"In your dreams was I thinking about you, Tobster." I said, smirking right back at him as he rolled his eyes.
"Grade?" the lady at the sophomore line asked me.
"10th." I replied.
"New student or are you returning?"
"New student."
"Name?"
"Maria Collins."
"Okay, and..... here's your schedule and locker number." the lady said as she handed my the piece of paper fresh from the printer.
Then, I sat down while I waited for the others since I was first.
Okay, here's my schedule-----

-----
"Which classes do we share?" the girls and Toby asked me.
We compared schedules and I shared classes with all of them - Kris: Geometry, Ceramic Sculpture, and Religion, Jenna: World History, Ceramic Sculpture, and Spanish, Toby- Biology, Literature, and ELA. And Toby's locker was 317, Jenna's 314, and Kristina's 316. To make my day even better we all shared the same home room! Oh, and all the other classes Toby, Jenna, and Kris don't share with me they share with one of the other two! What a coincidence!
"How is this even possible?" I questioned.
"I may know..." Toby trailed.
"What did you do?" Kris asked.
"I may have told the principle to put us four together in homeroom and locker numbers and to make sure we shared all of our classes with one of the other three..." Toby explained.
"How did you even convince her?" Jenna asked.
"I told her I'd get her a $25 gift card to Dunkin' Donuts."
We all burst out laughing.
"Are you kidding?" I questioned.
"No! I remember last year I never saw her without a Dunkin' Donuts cup!" Toby exclaimed while also laughing.
"Oh my god!" Jenna said.
-
As we walked through the halls we saw coupled kissing, people being bullied, and more.
When I looked up at Toby curiously he said, "This school isn't exactly the most appropriate. What you three DO NOT want to do is try and stand up for someone that's being bullied. Because the bully has been known for punching the person they were bullying and the person who was trying to stand up for him or her and lie to the principal and get away with it. So please don't do it."
"Really?" the girls and I asked.
"Unfortunately." Toby replied.
"And we promise we won't do anything unless it gets really bad. Right girls?" I asked.
"Right." they said.
"Good. Okay our homeroom is this way." Toby said while leading us to our homeroom and explaining our schedule and floors and anything else needed.
I wonder how this year will turn out.
