RILEY'S POV
knock knock.
"I'll get it!" I said.
I've been up since 8. And for me, that's early. I'm so nervous about my date with Maria. What if she doesn't like it?
I answered the door. It was Jeremy. Oh! I forgot I invited him over. I looked at my watch. It was exactly 10:30.
"Wow. Right on time." I said.
"Well, helping with your best friends first date is kind of important.
"It's her first date?!" everyone shouted.
"Yeah. All of the boys in Vermont liked the school whores. Then there was the group of boys and girls who called the girls sluts. Obviously I wasn't in it. Those girls are not sluts and if you think they are you should see what the school whores wore, shorts the show their ass and shirts that only barely covered their boobs, which was all it covered." Jeremy said.
Everyone stared, wide eyed.
"Jesus. Well, I'm glad that the girls are here now. They deserve better than that." Braiden said.
Everyone nodded.
"Okay, now, to the date, do you have the chalk?" Jeremy asked.
"No..." I mumbled.
"Now what kind of dumbass plans a date using chalk and waits til the day of to get it?" Jeremy asked.
"Riley, apparently." Toby said.
"Shut up." I said.
"Okay. Enough. Let's just go to the Walgreens down the block and get it." Connor said.
"Do you have the flowers?" Thomas asked.
"Yeah. They're in a vase in the kitchen." I said.
"Well at least you have that." Jeremy mumbled.
"Okay, none of you know how freaking nervous I am over this date so just please shut the hell up." I said.
I got a chorus of sassy's and whatever's.
We went to the drug store and bought blue chalk, since that's Maria's favorite color.
We grabbed Braiden and Connor's guitar, Toby's bells, Thomas's wooden block thingy, the three microphones, the chalk, the flowers, the blanket, and the picnic basket.
I made PB&J with strawberry jelly only, mozzarella sticks, Caesar salad, and grape juice. According to Jeremy, those were some of Maria's favorite lunch foods, and one of the only juices that she likes. Jeremy also said that PB&J was the only sandwich that she liked. Wow. Talk about unique.
Now, we just got to the park and it's 11:17. We have about 45 minutes to set everything up. I walked to the outside of the park, where the girls said that they would drop Maria off at, and started drawing the arrows to wear to boys were setting up their instruments.
"So, Toby you got the bells?" I asked.
"Yeah." he replied.
"And the rest of you are playing the usual?" I asked.
"Yeah." they said.
"Okay, so Jeremy, I was thinking that you would come in from behind us and hand me the flowers to give to Maria, since I can't really sing and hold the flowers." I said.
"Yeah. Okay. No problem." he replied.
"And you said that Maria doesn't know we've met?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Okay. So that will be a surprise for her." I said.
"Yup."
It was now 11:55.
"Guys! Get into your places! She should be here in like 10 minutes!" I yelled at the guys.
MARIA'S POV
The girls woke me up at 10:30 to get ready even though I didn't actually start putting my makeup on until 11:20. By the time I was done, it was 11:55. Riley should be here any minute.
When I walked downstairs Jenna and Kristina started whistling.
"Ugh, guys stop!" I said.
"You really look gorgeous." Jenna said.
"Yeah. Riley is gonna swoon over you." Kristina said.
"I sure hope so." I mumbled.
"Oh and by the way, Riley texted us yesterday and he said that there's a change of plans. He said that we have to drop you off at the park by the trash can." Jenna said.
I shrugged and said, "Whatever. Let's go!"
We were late so we rode our skateboards really quick to the park.
"Okay. We're here now-" I cut myself off when I saw the blue arrows on the cement.
"Guys. Look." I said as I pointed to the arrows.
The girls shrugged and said, "Let's follow them."
"Isn't this my date?" I asked.
"Well, yeah, but you don't know it's Riley. It could be some crazy stalker/rapist." Kristina said.
"Okay. Whatever."
We got back on our skateboards and followed the arrows. Jenna pulled out her phone and Kristina whispered something into the speaker. Then, Jenna faced her phone at me.
"Are you videotaping?" I asked.
"No. Jeremy wanted me to take pictures of your dress." Jenna said.
"Oh, really. Then why was Kristina whispering something into the speaker?" I asked.
"Because Jenna told me he wanted to see your dress and I whispered in the phone that he's thirsty, you know kidding around." Kristina said.
"Okay. Whatever."
I got back on my skateboard and Jenna was still holding the camera.
"You're still texting him?" I asked.
"Yeah. My mom just texted me too and they both won't shut up and you know that they both hate it when I don't reply." Jenna said.
"Yeah. Well, good luck with that." I said.
Finally, we followed the arrows on our skateboards with no interruptions.
The arrows ended then I heard someone whisper scream now! and I'm pretty sure it was Thomas. Then, music started playing and as I followed it I began to recognize the song. It was WMYB! Oh my god that has been one of my favorite songs since it came out in 2010!
I turned a corner and there they all were, in their polos, singing my favorite song. I saw a chair in front of them then I went to sit. Then, the song really began. I guess they made the introduction longer so I could get there and sit.

Once the song finished I ran up to all of them and hugged them. And when I got to Riley I whispered in his ear, "That was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much."
He just kissed my cheek in response which made me turn bright red. Then a figure started walking towards us. Once it got closer I realized who it was.
"Jeremy! How'd you meet the boys?" I asked.
"Kaitlin." He said. Then he handed something to Riley though I couldn't see what.
"Here." Riley said while handing me a bouquet of flowers.
"Thank beautiful thank you so much."
"Just like you." Riley said.
Again, I turned red.
"You look so adorable when you blush." Riley said which made me turn even more red.
"Guys I ended it!" Jenna yelled.
I forgot the girls were still here! Whoops.
"Ended what?" I asked.
"Riley asked us to video tape the whole thing so you can watch it later on. And he only had you wear a dress because when you watch the tape it'll seem like a romance movie." Kristina explained.
"Oh my god. That is so sweet! Thank you so much everyone!" I said.
"No problem!" They replied.
"Now come on! Lets leave the lovebirds alone!" Connor teased.
"Okay." Everyone said.
But Jeremy walked up to me and whispered, "I already told him if he hurts you I will hurt him and I know the girls will to so I just wanted to give you a heads up."
"Oh gosh. And it begins." I mumbled.
"Bye!" He said. I waved in reply.
Then a pair of arms wrapped around me from behind.
"Did you think that was all of it?" He asked.
"Riley, what did you do?" I asked.
He turned me around and moved out of the way. Then, I saw the picnic basket and blanket.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed. I admit, I was shocked.
"Well are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come and sit?" Riley asked.
I laughed and we both walked over.
Then Riley just sat down and stared at me.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" I asked.
"No. I'm just still not used to how beautiful you are." Riley said.
I blushed.
"You blush so easily." Riley said which again made me blush even more. So, I looked down trying to hide my face.
Riley lifted my chin up with his finger and said, "Don't be embarrassed, I think it's cute when you blush."
"Yeah, well I don't." I said.
"Trying to have a moment here!" Riley said and fake pouted.
I kissed his cheek and said, "Sorry, Ri."
He smiled.
"That's the first time you've called me that. I like it."
"I I I I LIKE THAT! I I I I LIKE THAT!" I screamed.
"You just love to ruin my moments!" Riley exclaimed, while faking a mad face.
"That I do!" I said as I tapped his nose.
Riley stuck his tongue at me.
I laughed and said, "So, what's in the basket?"
"My crap." Riley said with a serious face.
"Very funny. Now what's really in it?"
"Food. What do you think?"
"I don't know. Maybe a board game?"
"Very funny."
"So, let me rephrase. What kind of food?"
"Well, according to Jeremy, only your favorite lunch foods and one of the only juices you like." Riley said.
I gasped as he pulled out grape juice, Caesar salad, PB&J, and mozzarella sticks. I snatched the plates from Riley's hand and took a lot of everything.
"Hungry?" He asked while laughing.
"Don't judge. This is all of my favorite lunch foods."
Riley smiled and filled his plate with the same amount of food as me.
Then it hit me.
"Wait, did you say according to Jeremy?" I asked.
"Yeah. He was a big help with this. I forgot the chalk for the arrows so we went out to a drug store to get it and he made sure it was blue. Then, he told me what foods to pack, and helped bring the instruments and stuff."
"Wow. I see you guys are getting along well. But I have one question, did Jeremy tell you WMYB was one of my favorite songs?"
"No. Remember when we were playing 20 questions that one night and one question was favorite song? Well yeah that's where I got it from and I thought that it was the perfect song to sing."
"Wow. I'm really impressed now. I'm surprised you remembered."
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Well maybe because you don't like me?"
"Why would you think that?"
"Because no one besides my family, the girls, and Jeremy do."
"So?"
"So, have you ever been called a slut, a bitch, ugly, fat, stupid, or worthless?"
"No."
"Exactly."
"Well first off, you are not a slut. You dress perfectly fine and you don't flirt with every guy that talks to you. Second, you are not a bitch. You are one of the sweetest girls I know. Third, you are not ugly or fat. You're beautiful. You're perfect. Next, you are not stupid. You are so caring and generous and smart and always putting other people in front of yourself. And last, Jeremy, Jenna, Kristina, Toby, Connor, Braiden, Thomas, Vinny, your parents, the rest of your family, and me, would be sobbing every night if you died. You are not worthless. You are the opposite of every one of those things."
I was crying by now.
"Riley that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me."
I leaned over and hugged him tight.
"Thanks. But never forget any of that. You are beautiful."
"And you are amazing."
Riley smiled and pecked my nose.
He said, "And so are you."

Once we were done eating, Riley pulled an iHome out of the basket. He put his phone in and Be Your Everything by Boys Like Girls played.
He stood up, put his hand out and said, "May I have this dance?"
"I don't know how to dance." I mumbled.
"It's okay. I'll teach you. And you don't have to be perfect at it."
"Okay." I said as I grabbed his hand.
He put my arms around his neck then put his hands on my waist. We were just swaying.
"See? It's not so hard." Riley whispered into my ear, making me get goose bumps.
"I guess not." I whispered back.
I had my head rested against his chest and his chin was on top of my head.
"I'll be your shelter, I'll be your storm, I'll make you shiver, I'll keep you warm, whatever weather, baby I'm yours, be your forever be your fling, baby I will be your everything." Riley sang along to the music.
Riley lifted my chin up with his finger again so we were looking into each others' eyes.
"Baby I will be your everything." He sang the last part of the song as he leaned in closer to me, and I found myself leaning in too. Then our lips touched. It was perfect. Absolutely perfect. His hands went back around my waist and pulled me closer and my hands went back around his neck.
When we pulled away he asked me, "Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes." I said without hesitation.
Then I leaned in to kiss him again.

"I can't believe you rode your skateboard here!" Riley said while laughing.
"Don't judge! My skateboard is my baby!" I said, laughing too.
"What about me?" He fake pouted.
"Okay. My skateboard is baby number two!" I said as I pecked his lips.
"Thank you!" Riley said. Connor left Riley's skateboard so he didn't have to walk. What a nice brother!
We were told that everyone would be at my house so we rode to my house, side by side, talking about our addiction to Starbucks, then decided to go get some!
"Wow. This has been the best date ever!" I said.
"This was your first date!" Riley said.
"How'd you know?"
"Jeremy."
"I'm gonna kill him."
"It's fine! Don't worry about it! I'm actually glad because you've told me so many times that this date was perfect."
"Awh! Now you are also my first kiss..."I trailed off.
"Really?! Yes! I'm glad it was with me and not some other asshole!"
"Thanks I guess?"
We both laughed.
Once we got to my house, we put our skateboards on the grass and walked I holding hands.
Once everyone saw us holding hands, the mob came. The girls broke me apart from Riley while screaming in my ear. And the boys were just watching us, laughing.
"Can you please shut them up?" Thomas asked while scratching his ear.
"GUYS SHUT UP BEFORE ONE OF US GOES DEAF DO YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?!" I screamed.
That got them quiet.
"ARE YOU BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND?!" They screamed.
I walked over go Riley, took his hand in mine, and said, "Yes. And please don't start screaming."
They didn't listen. They dragged me upstairs, into my room, and closed and locked the door.
Then they started asking me a million questions at once.
"Guys. I will answer all of your questions and tell you everything about the date, just please let me text the boys to say just watch TV or something. Please!"
"Fine." They said.

"Okay. So, it was amazing. He is literally the sweetest thing." I started.
"Did you guys kiss?" Jenna asked.
"Actually, yes." I said. Then, they both bolted towards me, so I fell on my bed. Then they sat up and started asking me more questions.
"Jesus guys. Let me explain."
"Go on." They said.
"Okay. So he put on Be Your Everything on his iHome and said 'may I have this dance?' and I said 'I can't dance' and he said 'it's fine. please' so then I said yes. Then he put my arms around my neck and his arms around my waist. Then we started swaying. Next he was like 'it's not so bad is it' and I'm like 'I guess not'. Then he started singing the refrain then he lifted my chin up with his finger so we were looking into each others' eyes. Then he sang 'baby I will be your everything' the last line of the song then he kissed me." I said in one breath.
"He's so romantic!" Jenna said.
"Yeah he is. Did you like it?"
"I guess. It was perfect. Well, then, when we pulled away he asked me to be his girlfriend then I said yes then I kissed him. It was just amazing." I said.
"Awhhh!" The girls exclaimed.
"Shut up!" I said.
We all laughed then I began to explain the rest of my date.
RILEY'S POV
I just finished explaining the kiss to the guys and when I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said yes then she kissed me. They all 'awed' after that.
"Now tell us about the rest of the date!" Connor said.
"Okay okay. Jesus!" I said.
Then I began explaining everything. God, I hope we won't have to do this for every date we have.

Maria and I finally finished explaining our date again. Thank god. We were all downstairs watching the video.
"I knew you guys were lying! I was too nervous to argue though." Maria said. God, she was so cute.
"Good. Because then we wouldn't have to make up so many lies and half the video wouldn't be of us telling you lies." Kristina said causing Maria to stick her tongue out at her.
Once the video was done Maria said, "That was perfect."
"It was. I need a copy!" I said.
"I'll email it to you, babe." Maria said.
"Thank you." I said as I pecked her nose.
"PDA!" Everyone shouted.
"Jesus guys chill. We weren't making out." I said.
"Yet." Connor mumbled. I hit him and he stuck his tongue out at me.
"Let's go to sleep now!" Jeremy said.
"Yeah." Braiden, Thomas, and Toby said.
"Yeah we probably should. It's midnight." Jenna said.
"Okay. Goodnight guys."I said.
"Goodnight." Everyone replied.
Oh, I forgot to say that we were all sleeping over Maria's house for the first time. Yeah, her mom really likes us.
Okay. Moving on, I can't believe that Maria is mine. She's everything I want and everything I need. She's perfect.
