Your heels clicked on the tiled floor of the pentagon as you were led to the holding room to see the man from the restaurant.
"Ms. Kennedy." The thinning man from yesterday greeted you. " Do you believe it's him?"
The corner of your mouth twitched up in a slight smile," I have a feeling."
You opened the door to reveal the man from the restaurant last night.
He looked up and glared at you as you say across from him.
"You son of a -"
"Oh please. You know what you did." You said cutting him off. "You're a murderer Erik Lensherr. And you will spend the rest of your life in here."
"Like you care."
"You're right. I don't care. I don't care about you. I care about what you did. To me. To my family. To my father." You said the last part in almost a whisper.
"I didn't kill your father. I don't even know your father." He responded coldly.
"Oh I highly doubt that." You paused, "You killed my father, the president. John F. Kennedy."
He narrowed his eyes. "I honestly don't care how he's your father but I didn't kill him."
"Yeah right. I know you did." You paused and looked around. "I know what you are." You whispered.
"What are you talking about?"
"You're a mutant with the ability to control metal. I'm not an idiot Mr. Lensherr."
"Oh. I am well aware of that Ms. Kennedy. I did not kill him."
You stood up frustrated. "I don't believe you!"
You exited the room angrily.
"He's not confessing but I know it's him."
"I don't know if we can hold him without any substantial evidence." The thinning man said.
You poked his chest with a finger, "Find evidence!"
You stomped out of the pentagon and sat in your car.
"Did he confess?"
"No Charles he didn't. I even told him I know he's a mutant. Still nothing."
He placed a hand on your shoulder." I've known Erik for a long time. He's a stubborn man. I'm sorry."
You gave him a faint smile," Thank you for talking with me and agreeing to come."
"It's my pleasure."
You drove Charles back to his place and then headed home.

Six Months Later

'Dr. Bolivar Trask is to meet with the Department of Homeland Security today to discuss an invention-' the television droned on.
There was a knock at your door.
You opened it to reveal Erik Lensherr. Your eyes widened but before you could react he pushed you into the apartment and pinned you against the wall by your neck.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now?!" He growled at you.
"Can't. Breath." You choked out.
"You don't deserve to!" He yelled before letting you go.
You fell to the ground and gasped for air.
"No, you don't deserve to breathe." You responded once you could. "You're a murderer"
"I told you." He said through his teeth." I didn't do it."
You got to your feet, " and I told you that I don't believe you. You had something to do with his death and I know it."
"It's been two years let it go!"
"When your mother died how long did it take you to 'let it go'?"
"Don't you dare talk about her!"
"Exactly what I thought . I don't know how you escaped but you better leave now!"
The door slammed behind Erik and you slumped down in the nearest chair to recollect your thoughts.
