"What do you mean Atarah?" Charles asked.
"I mean." You paused walking closer to his desk to take the chair in front of him. "I think I'm a mutant."
"And why exactly would you think that?"
" I saw something. Well. Someone actually. A woman. I think. She was blue and kind of scaley and she had red hair. She was in trouble. There were these men. They had her tied down and it's like they were going to dissect her. She was screaming." By this time you were crying for the blue girl.
"They gave her anesthesia and then they dissected her. It was awful. I could feel her pain. Her fear." You trailed off.
He placed two fingers to his temple and was quiet for a moment. "Then what?"
"It stopped. Just very abruptly."
His brows furrowed in thought," The girl you've seen is Raven Darkholme. She's like a sister to me. We're incredibly close. She was just here a few hours ago actually so she couldn't have gotten too far. Ive told Hank and Alex to go find her. Hopefully we're not too late." He became visibly sad before changing his expression," whatever the outcome is it'll help figure out your mutation."
"How do I make it go away?" You asked.
"I'm afraid it's not that simple Atarah. Once we tap into our mutation we can't get away from it."
"But Charles, I don't want this I don't want to see these things, it's awful you can't imagine how it feels I-"
Suddenly there was a loud slam and fast heavy footsteps.
The door flew open and in stomped Erik looking pissed.
"GODDAMMIT ATARAH! You were supposed to be at the your apartment.! Are you insane? People are looking for you to KILL you and you just up and left! Do you have any idea how stupid and careless that was? You could've gotten yourself killed as well as Hank!"he paused to catch his breath and opened his mouth to continue but was cut off.
"Are you done ranting now Erik?" You asked him slightly annoyed. You stood up and turned to face him. "Now. I know the consequences of my actions but I figured if anything it's safer here with the others than it was with just Hank since you left to God knows where without leaving as much as a note for all I know Zara could've gotten to you. And. One. More. Thing. Mister." You poked him in the chest after every word and looked up to him defiantly. "Don't yell at me like that again. I am not a child." You turned on you heels and marched out.
You decided to take a walk and explore the house. You walked into a few nicely decorated bedrooms and traveled down art filled hallways.
You found a small room that appeared to be a library.
You stepped into and looked around at all the wonderful books that were neatly on the shelf.
"Atarah." You heard a familiar voice call and you turned around to face Erik. His eyes held a soft look and he stared at you lovingly. He slowly walked towards you, his eyes never leaving yours.
He placed a hand on your cheek, it was warm and comforting." I apologize for yelling like that."
You leaned into his palm still looking up at him," it's alright. Im sure you were worried. I should've waited for you to come back but I needed to talk to Charles."
"What about?" He asked furrowing his brows.
"I um." You turned away from him feeling unsure of how to say it. "I think I'm a mutant and I needed Charles' help." You continued to explain everything you previously told Charles.
