"Atarah, what's wrong?" Erik asked speeding to your side.

"Why do you think something is wrong?" You sobbed out.

"Do you really need an answer to that?"

You sighed and turned over to face him. "It was her Erik."

He gave a a confused look before realization crossed his face," Zara killed your father."

You nodded although it wasn't a question."She did it because he was a mutant. She hates them. She hates mutants because she was kidnapped by mutants and she didn't want one in charge of the country so she killed him."

"This is my fault. I should have protected her better then none of this would have happened."

"It's not your fault Erik. You couldn't have known this would happen."

"But still."

You shook your head,"But still nothing it isn't your fault and I never want to hear you say that it is again."

He gave a small grin.

"I do have a question though. If you're willing to answer."

" I owe you any explanation you want." He responded causing you to roll your eyes at him.

"Why didn't you tell her you were a mutant?"

His brows furrowed in thought. "I didn't want her to leave me. I didn't want her to be afraid of me or think I was a freak. Not everyone is accepting of what I am. I didn't want to risk it but looking back maybe I should have then maybe she would have been more cautious and would not have gotten taken. But I'm glad it happened."

You were confused," why?"

"For many reasons. I got to see what kind of person she truly was. And I got to meet you. Even if you hate me and never want to speak to me again it was an absolute pleasure to know someone like you."

You smiled widely at him,"aww Erik you big softy."

His smile faded and he rolled his eyes," don't make me regret saying that."

"Oh you know I will." You yawned out.

"Okay." He started standing up from the edge of the bed. "You need to get some rest. I'm sure you're exhausted."

You fidgeted around until you got comfortable enough to fall asleep.

When you woke up the chair beside you was empty. Looking around you saw the room was empty as well.

You climbed out of bed changed your clothes and went searching for Hank.

"Good morning!" Hank shouted from the kitchen.
You smiled widely at him. "Good morning Hank. Somethings smells fantastic!"
"It's strawberries and French toast." He responded.
"Ugh Hank I'm gonna gain a million pounds because of you."
"Well Erik practically ordered me to make to breakfast. I was actually told to bring it to you in bed."

"How tyrannical. I hope he wasn't rude to you."

Hank smiled," no more than usual." He placed a plate in front of you and your mouth watered instantly.

"I'm so glad you're okay. As soon as you left Erik said he had a bad feeling so he flew out here immediately not too long after me, Charles and Alex came too."

"Charles is here?" You asked excitedly.

"Yeah he is-"

"Where?!"

"Well Charles has a house here. He figured we'd be busy figuring everything out and finding Zara and solving your dads murder and everything so he went there to get the house ready and stuff. You know Charles he's a great host."

"That he is." You paused. " can I see him?"

His brow furrowed in confusion," why?"

"I um. Just wanna apologize for leaving so abruptly. It was rude of me. And I miss him. And Alex."

"Erik told me to make sure you stay here until he comes back. He even told me to use force if necessary. He knows how stubborn you are."

"Asshole." You mumbled under your breath.

"Come on Hank. It's not like I won't be safe. You'll be with me."

"I don't know Atarah. I think Erik is right you need to stay here. You were kidnapped for Christ sake. Zara is still out there and looking for you."

"Hank." You said softly before placing a hand on his shoulder and pouting lightly. "Pleaseeeeeeeee"

"Ugh. Fine."

You quickly finished your French toast before grabbing your shoes and heading out the door.

A few minutes later Hank pulled up to this beautifully quaint looking house.

You stepped out the car and headed up to the door ringing the door bell.

Once the door opened you saw Alex standing there.

He smiled at you before pulling you into a hug.
"I was worried about you! I'm so glad you're okay."

You pulled away and smiled at him. "Aw really?"

He nodded and his jaw clenched, "I thought she hurt you." You could see the fear in his eyes and your heart fell. He still had feelings for you.

"Erik saved me just in time."

"Yeah I'm sure." He mumbled before moving aside to let you in.

You stood in the entrance taking in your surroundings. The house was mainly a light wood color with a beautiful stair case and white walls.

You smiled and turned to look at Alex.

"Where's Charles?" You asked.

"He's down the hall last door on the right in his mothers study."

You nodded and turned away to go find him.

"Come in." Charles said responding to your knock on the door.

"Atarah! What a lovely surprise. How are you doing? I was worried sick about you."

"I'm okay." You shut the door behind you.

"Just a little shaken up. I'll be fine."
There was a silence.

"I need to talk to you about something." You blurted out.

He noticed the strange tone in your voice. "Are you alright?"

"Charles I think I'm a mutant."
