Katelyn crumpled to the floor before everyone. Marshal took the distraction to shoot magic at the girl. It hit her in the chest, sending her flying into the darkness. Jay started to drag Katelyn across the floor, attempting to escape the library. Everyone followed, running out the door.
They ran five blocks until they stopped. "Oh my god, what just happened?" Charlotte asked.
No one bothered to answer her as they all sat on the pavement, panting.
When they were rested, they walked another few blocks to get to Katelyn's house. Lily grabbed the knocker and slammed it against the door. No answer.
She tried again, but there was still no answer. The door wasn't locked,so they went in and placed Katelyn on the couch. They all went their respective ways, hoping the girl wouldn't catch up to them.
Jay had put her ear buds in, but was just listening to the silence and occasional owl hooting. She put her hood up and stuffed her hands in her pockets. She finally started playing music to calm her down.
"The truth runs wild
Like a tear down a cheek
Trying to save face

I'm lying through my teeth"
She arrived at her house walking upstairs immediately. Her dad was asleep already, so she didn't have to worry about being interrogated.

She wondered if Katelyn was dead. She didn't look like she was, but it was a possibility. She wondered if she had wings also. Everything seemed to revolve around the wings.
