Once Jay was back in her house, she started to prepare for travel. She grabbed a backpack and filled it with several changes of clothes, a flashlight, a book on how to survive in the wild, and a sketchbook. She also planned to get back the book on wings.

She also grabbed a small satchel, putting a few hats in it, along with a jacket and playing cards.

Jay slung the bag over her shoulder, and the satchel along with it. She sneaked quietly downstairs, knowing her dad was asleep. Grabbing the wings book off the top of the refrigerator (he always hides things there), she snuck out of the house.

She looked at the scenery around her. The night sky now showing the glittering stars up above, she could see Orion. The cherry blossom petals danced around her, tickling her face slightly as she tugged on her bag to get it fully on her back.

She set off toward the cherry blossom trees swiftly but silently. She thought she could hear someone behind her, but she shrugged it off.

Jay finally stopped at the edge of the forest, darkness spreading out far in front of her. She saw something move beside her, and she walked towards it.

There stood Marshal, obviously trying to get away but failing miserably as a wall of thorns blocked his path.

"What are you doing here? Did you follow me?"

"Uhh... yeah I did follow you. I saw you leave your house, so I, naturally, came to see if you were okay," he explained.

"And why were you even awake at," she tried to think of the time, "1:00 in the morning exactly?"

"Look, can we just drop this? I know you're suspicious, but I just was really worried about you, honest," he said, a hint of hurt in his tone.

She took in air for a solid five seconds before letting it out. "I guess you can come with me."

"Cool! Where are we going?"

She cast her gaze skyward. "I dunno."
