Jay instantly regretted what she had just done. Her hand moved to her face in anxiety. She ran down the stairs to see her dad lying by the front door, inches away from the recliner.
"Dad! I'm so sorry, are you okay?" He raised his head in acknowledgement. "I-i'm okay. I think..." he winced as another wave of pain spread across his body.
"Hold on, Dad. Just hold on," she said using her magic to start healing him.
"Does it still hurt?" She asked after a while.
"A little," he replied, moving every part of his body to check if it hurt. "I'm okay though," he sighed.
"Dad, I'm so sorry, I'll never forgive myself, and-" her dad gave her a little shake. "Let's not live in the past, okay kiddo?" Jay nodded.
"Listen, I have a few things to tell you," he said standing and helping her up to sit on the sofa. What is it, Dad?"
"Well, you know how you have those wings of yours, right?" Jay looked to her back as her wings spread. They had become more red than anything...
"There are five tribes to familiarize yourself with. Nightwings, Brightwings, Bloodwings, Thunderwings, and the legendary Rainbowwings. They all have different personalities. Nightwings are proud, Brightwings are usually happy, but they can also be timid. Bloodwings are bloodthirsty, hence the name. Thunderwings are brave, and Rainbowwings are leaders.
"You look like more of a Bloodwing than anything..." he touched Jay's wings and frowned. "Yep. A Bloodwing at heart. This is something I never told your mother..." he spread his jet black wings out. They touched the other side of the room at the least. "Wow. Those are so cool."
"Me, I'm more of a Nightwing."
