Ugh, science. I hate science, and science hates me. I just don't get it. I don't understand the stupid subject. Mr. McGuire also hates me. Even though he can't say it because he's my teacher I'm sure of it. Probably because no matter how much he tries to teach me, I don't learn.
"Today we are doing a project and we are going to have partners" Mr. McGuire announces to the class. A kid named Toby raised his hand. "Yes Toby?" Mr. McGuire says with a sigh. Maybe Mr. McGuire just hates everyone. "Do we get to choose our partners?" Toby asks putting his hand down.
"No, I have already made the groups" he replies. Groans fill the air.
"Sienna and Nate"
"Natasha and Leo"
"Piper and Noah"
"Julianna and Caleb"
"Bianca and Sawyer"
"Bella and Andrew"
"Brent and Alexandra"
No. Way.
No, no, no, no, no! Out of all the people in the class. I get stuck with the stupid, sexist, moron! Are you kidding me?! I would rather be stuck with Bianca and she's the airhead of the class! The sound of scraping of chairs and shuffling echo in the room when everyone goes to sit next to their partner.
"Hey" Brent says taking the empty seat next to me. "Hi" I say not looking at him. Mr. McGuire gives us our science topics and our presentation dates.
The bell rings and everyone runs out to get to their next class. I don't run since my next period is free. "What's your next class?" Brent asks me putting his binder in his arms.
"Oh, I have a free period" I tell him. "Cool, me too. Want to start the project?" Brent asks walking beside me. "Sure, let's go to the library" I tell him.
Fortunately the library is right across the hall from Mr. McGuire's classroom so we go in and quickly find a spot with bean bags and we grab some school laptops and start working.
"We should go, the bell is going to ring soon, can we meet up this weekend?" I ask after a good 35 minutes of working on the project. Brent nods. "Sure when are you available?" He asks closing his laptop as well.
"You can come over to my house tomorrow at noon?" I shrug. "Sure, just text me your address and I'll come" Brent says and we stand up and pack up our things to go to our next class.

"Wait, did you just say no to video games? What's going on?" Josh asks while we skate home after school.
"Nothing, I just have plans" I say casually. "Plans that are more important than video games, what is it?" Jake says in shock. I don't know why it's not the first time I said no to video games.
"Just doing a project with Brent" I say hoping that they will just let it go. Lately my friends have been irritating me a lot. It's really annoying.
"Brent huh?" Will says smirking. "What about him?" I ask. Where are they going with this? "It's a school project" I say in a bored voice.
This conversation is in their heads. Nobody is really cluing me in on what they're thinking or where they're going with this.
"Fine" Will says in mock surrender. I sigh at the fact that they will always make assumptions. Which I really wish they didn't. I mean it's nothing more than a project.
We say our goodbyes when we reach our neighborhood and we separate towards our homes.
Yet again I have no homework so I just eat play video games with my brothers (which I win). And go to sleep.
