You Don't Know Me

Chapter 12| Holy Heck!

"You're actually really good at this" Brent says hopping off of Prince as I hop off Sadie.

"Thanks" I say taking off the saddle from Sadie.

Brent taught me how to do almost everything he knew with horses. He taught me how to take care of them, take care of the equipment, and of course how to ride them.

The only thing he hasn't taught me is jumping on a horse. He says he doesn't know how to teach it since he is still learning as well.

Sadie neighs and I put her back in her gate and pet her neck. Brent puts Prince away and we head inside.

"You hungry?" Brent asks me when we walk into his kitchen. "Kinda" I shrug "what do you have?"

"Um, I have chips, waffles, muffins, and pretzels" He says searching the cupboard.

"What kind of chips?" I question sitting at the kitchen table.

"Tostitos, Doritos, Lays Wavy, and Popcorn chips" He shrugs bringing out a bunch of chip bags. I quickly grab the popcorn chips. Luckily it's butter flavor.

"I guess popcorn chips for you" Brent chuckles and grabs the Doritos for himself.

I nod after stuffing my face. I have a strange obsession with popcorn, but I prefer popcorn chips so I don't get it stuck in between my teeth.

Brent just chuckles at my stuffed face. He just smiles and shakes his head.

"What do you want to do?" Brent asks. "Obviously we aren't going to just eat."

"We could watch a movie?" I shrug. "Okay" He replies standing up and I follow him into the living room. "What movie do you want to watch?" Brent asks pulling up Netflix onto the tv.

"Maybe... The Maze Runner? I haven't watched that in a while" I say pointing to the movie on the screen.

Brent clicks on the movie and plays it.

After a while my eyelids become heavy and I end up leaning my head on Brent. He chuckles lightly and puts his arm around me.

Near the end of the movie I drift off to a peaceful sleep.

I wake up groggily to snoring and little giggles. I slowly open my eyes and see two little girls who look exactly the same.

They must be Brent's little sisters. My eyelids give up on me and decide not to open.

Then I hear a deep male chuckle. My eyes shoot open.

Oh so now you open! My inner voice says to my eyelids.

I hear clicking noises like a camera or something. My eyes search the room without moving my head or anything.

I notice one of Brent's friends Chad taking pictures of me. I notice what he's taking pictures of.

Me and Brent. Cuddling on the couch.

I realize the faint snoring behind my ear is coming from Brent. We are both curled up and his right arm is dangling over my waist and my hand is over the armrest while my other arm is under my chin. (Picture above)

Chad notices that I'm awake and speeds out of the room.

I slowly and carefully move Brent's arm and slide up from the big chair.

He stirs but doesn't wake up.

I speed out of the room and look for Chad. I see him sitting in the dining room. I decide to scare him. It's my payback. I creep up behind my and whisper "boo" and quickly tap my hands on his shoulders.

"Ah!" He yells quickly and he jumps slightly, but not as much as I wanted him to.

"Did you take pictures of me?" I ask when he turns around. He just smirks. "Are you guys dating?" He asks. Isn't Brent like his best friend, shouldn't he know if we were.

"No, we just feel asleep watching a movie" I explain putting my hands on my hips.

"Then why did it look like you guys were cuddling?" Chad asks with a smirk folding his arms.

"I don't know" I respond. He just chuckles and exits the room. I exit and walk back into the living room.

This time Brent's awake. "Hey" I say sitting next to him. If he was asleep, it shouldn't be awkward. I mean he doesn't know about our cuddle position. Or whatever it was.

"Hey, did I fall asleep?" He asks his voice deep and husky from being asleep. Honestly it sounds hot. When did I become like this? Seriously, hot? Who am I?

"We both did" I explain. "Oh" he says quickly. The two little girls return and giggle when they see us. "Hey Rochelle. Hey Rebecca" Brent says to the identical girls.

The girls giggle some more. "You guys were cuddling" says one of the girls. I have no idea if it was Rochelle or Rebecca since I can't tell who's who.

I blush and Brent looks at me confused. I give him a 'pretty-much' face. "Chad may talk to you about that" I wince with my burning cheeks.

"Chad's here?" Brent asks me. "Yeah man" Chad says from the doorway. The girls giggle again and run out of the room.

"Hey, Chad" Brent says a little awkward. "How did you get in?" Brent questions confused.

"Your mom, she let me in." Chad chuckles.

Oh dear. How many people saw us?

"Oh" Brent nods. "I should be getting home" I say awkwardly to the boys.

"Right I'll go drive you" Brent says standing up. I stand up as well and we head out the door. Brent gets in the driver's seat and I get into the passenger seat.

When we arrived into my driveway Brent gets out and walks around the car to me. Good thing we live only ten minutes apart.

"There's something I want to ask you.." Brent says nervously. "What is it?" I say quietly.

"Will you go out with me?" Brent asks shifting his weight on his feet and lowers his head down to look at his shoes.

I lift his chin with one hand and put my other hand on his shoulder. I reply to his question with a kiss on his lips.

Holy crap! Did I just do that?!

He deepens the kiss and cups my head in his hand. After a minute we lose our breath and pull away.

He rests his forehead on mine. "Does that answer your question" I giggle.

Holy heck! I just giggled! What's wrong with me?!

"Yeah" he chuckles.

We just stand there for a while.

We say our goodbyes and he drives away. I run inside and go into my room and jump flat onto my bed.

I can't help but feel so giddy. Brent asked me out!

What happened to me? I think I fell for someone. And they fell for me.
