As I sit down on the couch with a bag of chips I press play on the Netflix, but then I pause it again once I hear my phone ring.

I groan and blindly answer the phone.

"Hello?" I ask, but it comes out muffled because my mouth is full of chips.

"Lexi?" I hear Brent's voice say.

I finish eating the chips in my mouth before speaking again. "Yeah?"

"I need your help, my mom's working late and I have to take care of Rochelle and Rebecca, but I really need to work on a school project. Could you come over and help?" he asks sounding really stressed.

"Yeah, of course, I'll be right over," I say without hesitation.

"Thanks, see you in 5," I say and we hang up.

I make my way over to Brent's house, and I knock on the door as I hear the squealing voices of two little girls.

The door swings open to Brent completely out of breath and looking really tired.

Then Rochelle and Rebbecca run out and see me. They end up jumping and I manage to pick up Rochelle and I hold the tiny hand of Rebecca. Or the other way around, I really can't tell them apart.

"Yeah, sorry about them.. they found an entire pantry of candy," he says wincing and I honestly feel bad for him.

"I can take care of them, you can just finish whatever needs to be done. Then take a nap because.. no offense, but you look horrible," I say and Brent chuckles.

"I feel like it, thanks for doing this," he says and I walk into his living room and the girls sit down on the couch with their toys.

"Of course," I say giving him a small kiss on the cheek.

Brent walks to the desk at the end of the living room and begins to work and I sit down with the girls who are currently making their dolls fly in the air in superhero positions.

"What're you girls doing?" I ask with a smile.

"Jus' playing," I think Rochelle says.

"Well Rochelle's doll is gonna get a makeover," Rebecca says.

I make a mental note on their differences, so I can tell them apart and for the next 2 hours I just play with them. At one point they started getting a little energetic, but I just played with them in the backyard and that got them tired after a bit.

"I'm tired," Rebecca says climbing into a curled up position on the couch.

"And I'm hungry," Rochelle says jumping right next to her sister.

"Wel-" I begin, but the sound of the front door opening and closing interrupts me.

I look over to see Ms. Fenderson coming inside with a couple of grocery bags and I stand up and take a couple off her arms.

"Oh hi Alexandra," she says giving me a warm smile.

"You can call me Lexi," I say and she nods.

I follow her into the kitchen and I begin helping her with the groceries.

"Brent told me you came to help out with the girls, I hope they didn't give you much trouble," Ms. Fenderson says and I shake my head.

"Nonsense, they're sweet girls," I say and Ms. Fenderson smiles. "I've honestly always wanted to know what having a little sister would be like."

"Oh that's right, you only have brothers?" she says and I nod.

"Both are older," I add and she chuckles.

"Well you're always welcome here, it's all girls, except for Brent if you want to be technical," she says and I laugh.

"Thanks Ms. Fenderson," I say and she smiles holding her arms open for a hug.

"Call me Nancy, you've helped this family a lot. That means you're a part of the family now," she tells me and I accept her hug.

"Thanks Ms.Fen- Nancy," I correct myself.

We let go and I continue to help her with the groceries.

"Alright, work is done and the rascals are dozing on the couch," I hear Brent say from the doorway.

"Great, now you can help with dinner," Nancy says and Brent nods coming into the kitchen and grabbing some ingredients.

"Lexi, would you want to stay for dinner?" Nancy asks me.

"If it's okay with you," I say and she nods.

~~~~~~
I give one last wave to Nancy and the girls before kissing Brent on the cheek and walking down the driveway and head back home.
Nancy said that I'm a part of the family now, and it feels right. They feel like a part of my family now.
A/N: Okay, I'm just gonna says it. I'M SO SORRY.
I've been really inactive recently, and along with that, I left you with no update for a bit.
I've been having a lot of technical difficulties, along with writer's block and some stuff in my personal life as well.
You guys kept commenting for me to update and as much as it makes me happy that you're so enthusiastic about this book it makes me feel bad that I can't update even though I really want to.
I also have a question for you guys: I know I already have another book that I haven't updated in a bit, (I'm working on it, don't worry) but how would you guys feel if I had a book that I write whenever I can and when I have writer's block for my other stories?
It would be a science fiction/fantasy and I could just give you the prologue and you could tell me what you think. Yes? No?
ALSO, this book has passed 1k votes and has almost 28k views. That's absolutely insane and I still can't believe it. Thank you guys so much for your support for this book, I'm really glad you like it <3
I think that's all I need to say for now so..
Hope you enjoyed <3
