You were running. Your breath was coming in big gasps causing you to not take enough air into your body. You should have passed out already, but your adrenaline and the need to survive seemed to give you the urge to keep running.

Your legs were burning from the speed you were going and the cutsand bruises you would get after you would trip over a branch and crash down to the ground in pain and agony. Every single time you would get up and keep running because you didn't have the time to just sit there and rest, every minute that you did stop and take a breather would be just enough time for HIM to catch up to your pace.

You didn't understand why this was happening or why when you woke up the next morning, Riley had became some creature that wanted to rip you to shreds. It all didn't make sense, but then again Riley had been acting funny ever since the day that you had met Chris.
With each passing day, Riley grew more distant and mean towards you. His eating habits had become more vicious and his alertness more in sync with every single move you made. It was almost like he was the predator and you were his prey. You didn't give it much thought, well that was until he bit you this morning and become rabid, but for some reason he began to grow in size, thus causing you to race out the door in your nightgown into the deep dark woods behind your house.

You knew he was following you because every time you took a break you could hear him draw that much closer to you and the little hairs on the back of your neck would rise up. So running seemed to be the only survival tactic that you had at the moment.

The only problem with that being is that you ran in the wrong direction because at the end of your path, was a cliff. You came to a complete halt and tried to go back the way you came. You heard a growl behind you and turned around slowly.

You tried not to scream when you saw the horrible site before you, because what you saw was scary beyond belief. Riley was no longer the cute little puppy that you had cared for five years, no he had turned into something way worse than anything you could've imagined.

His fur was spiked in all directions and his back was humped into an arch. His once beautiful blue eyes were now black and full of rage and determination. His teeth had turned into jagged sharp points, almost like shark teeth and his paws are now the size of your head and held long, sharp claws.

He was twice your size and could probably take you down within a single pounce. At that moment you learned the true meaning of fear. Your body began to shake and your vision began to become blurry, it took you a few seconds to realize that you were having a nervous breakdown.

You knew now wasn't the time to loose yourself, not if you wanted to survive. But every time you tried to move the beast in front of you would growl from deep inside it's chest.

You froze and place and stopped what you were doing. However the thing seemed to take it as a challenge because it got into a pouncing stance and begain to lung at you.

In was in that moment that it had landed on you that you had woke up yet again from the nightmare that seemed to haunt you every time you went to sleep.

Your arms and legs were covered in sweat. Your hands were shaking so much that you didn't know if they would ever stop.

You looked over the edge at the end of your bed and saw little Riley looking up at you in confusion. You breathed in a sigh of relief and layed back onto your bed.

You starred at the ceiling until you slowly began to drift back to sleep. Durning that time you couldn't help but wonder if you were losing your mind.

~ The next morning ~

You woke up to have rays of sunshine blind you through your curtains. You turned over to the other side and tried to go back to sleep. It was in that moment that you heard a loud bang. You sat straight up and saw that Riley wasn't in his bed.
