A/n : Hello my awsome geeks and nerds! I have finally finished this chapter, sorry if it is so late and sorry for the suspension. -.- So here you go!

The life of a Genie is full of hardship and remorse, this is because they have no free will past the confinement of the lamp. The lamp is their sanctuary and their home until someone releases them from the shackles they bear, and thus giving them the sweet taste of freedom.

But that of course rarely happens.

In the past, Genies were often promised by their masters and mistresses that they would set them free with the very last wish they were granted, but no matter the wish, good or bad, it did not always end well for the humans.

A Genie's magic tends to have a darkness to it, a darkness that will spread like a wildfire if the wish is used for the wrong reasons. The darkness consumes the human that made the wish and ultimately turns them evil.

However, there have been a few known cases in which the human finds his/her way back to the light and the memory of the promise they made resurfaces. But when the human is ready to set the Genie free, the Genie stops them and begs them to reconsider.

For a Genie to have one of their masters/mistresses turn evil because of their magic is a disgraceful act all on its on. So instead of being set free and enduring the regret that has been set in there hearts, they ask if the masters/mistresses could wish for the lamp, along with the Genie, to be sent to someone else.

Even though most of the humans hesitate to do this, they ultimately do what is asked. The Genie is then sucked into the lamp until another human finds the lamp and awakens them from their long slumber.

And while the Genie waits patiently in the lamp for the next finder, the memories of their unruly past fades away until they no longer remember them. Thus giving them the chance to start anew.

That is why on the day you tried to get to know Genie, she couldn't remember anything about her past.

~Back to the main story~

It was a cold Thursday afternoon in October. Your Aunt was at home sick with the flu. She had asked you to work her shift as well because usually on Thursdays you would work in the morning until mid afternoon and then she would come in and work until closing time.

Of course you would do anything for Your favorite aunt. So you endured the excruciating trauma that is the multiple clusters of little kids screaming bloody murder until it was closing time. Sure there had been a few sweet ones, but there had also been some that were so spoiled and mean that it took all of your will power to not swear at them. Because after all they are still innocent, well most of them anyway.

By the time it got to six, it was time for closing. There was only three people left in the entire store. It was a young couple with their little girl who looked to be about five.

She was glaring at them because she wanted to be a mermaid for Halloween, but her parents however had a different idea.

"Look Davina, I know you want to be a mermaid, but I'm more worried about whether or not it's a safe costume choice for you." Her mother told her in an agitated voice.

"Actually, the costume is quite safe, because they are all handmade. I made sure that the skirt was actually a skort, so she should be able to move in it." You said matter-of-factly.

The couple looked at you with wide eyes, they were filled with wonder and astonishment.

"Y-you make t-the costumes by h-hand?" Asked the girls father.

You sake your head no in response.

"My Aunt Sophia makes the costumes." You said with pride.

"Well then I guess you can get the costume then, Davina." Said the girls mother.
