Avoidance has always been child's play in your family. However, at the moment, it was the only thing not only keeping you grounded, but also its keeping you from ended up in a crying mess.

It all started the day after Malice, the prince of darkness, rejected you after he clearly kissed you first. Whenever you would your path crossed his, you would either quickly run past him or head back in the direction you came from so you wouldn't have to endure that heartwrenching pain of him not loving you once again.

It worked so well during the daytime, however, at night the nightmares reminded you of that scene over and over again. No matter how many times you willed it to go somewhere else, it always came back to that vision. It got so bad to the point where you decided that you'd try to stay up as long as possible to avoid that too. However, you could only go so long without sleep and even the staff who worked in the castle, although they were mostly demons and other magical creatures, they felt sorry for you that you had to go through that.

Of course rumors were spread until a certain someone overheard a conversation going on between the maid who attended to you and the dish washer that was helping her take the clothes and sheets to hang outside to dry.

"Its sad really, the poor dear. He/She hardly gets any sleep all because he/she is worried about what the Master thinks of him/her. It's quite a shame really, I think they would make a wonderful couple, if it wasn't for the fact that the master had such a huge chip on his shoulder." The young demon maid states, shaking her head as she throws one side of the sheet in her hands over the clothes line, pulling it down before pinning it in place with clothes pins.

"You would think that after being alone for such a long time that he would want to at least get to know him/her a little better. However, after what Queen Stefanie did to him, I wouldn't blame him for being cold towards humans, or at least cautious towards them." The dish washer admits as he hands the maid a blanket to hang up.

The maid sighs and shakes her head, "I knew from the start that she was no good for him, but telling that beast that something isn't good for him is like playing in a den of snakes." She says giggling.

"Well you know he wasn't always that way, he used to be kind and gentle. If only he hadn't gotten his heart broken, maybe he could let the human into his heart then and he/she wouldn't be so miserable right now." The dish washer says as he hands the maid the last blanket to hang on the clothesline.

"That is true, but until he learns to love again, I fear that the master will always be cruel towards him/her." The maid says with a worried look on her face as she hangs the blanket up and pins it like she has done with the others.

After the chore was done, the maid and the dish washer head back inside, unaware that their master had listened in this entire time.

Malice sighs and stares up at the cloudy sky. Thoughts of his past have been clinging to his mind lately, but that isn't the reason why he had told you to stay away from him. For you see, it was something much darker than that.

Years ago, before Stefanie became Queen and they were still friends, Malice had put his trust and faith into her. However, he had also given her his whole heart in which she had crumbled it into nothing and had cut off his wings with an iron chain.

Through the pain and suffering that he felt, a spell of darkness had been casted over him by a dark and ancient power that was granted to him for him to use only in the name of vengeance. However, because he accepted the power, he is not allowed to love another human (in the lovey dovey way) ever again.

If he so happens to ever fall in love again, his lover shall die a terrible death. However, that wasn't the worst part of it.

Malice's lover, should he ever fall in love again, would experience tremendous torture until they died .... and all by his own very two hands.
