Walking through the woods always seemed to help you clear your mind after the fights you've been having with John lately. He doesn't seem to understand that you are not the same little boy/girl that needing to be sheltered so long ago. That, however, was the very least thing on your mind, for you see the conversation that John and you had merely minutes ago soon flashed into your mind, thus causing your chest to tighten up.
~ Moments before this ~
"Why do you insist on being such an ill-tempered brat that always thinks that he/she can do whatever he/she wants just because I have to work most of the time!" Your brother practically yells at you.
You glared at him over the book you were reading, it was almost as if you were holding back on the words that were just at the tip of your tongue, because you knew he was right. You shouldn't go out alone during the day to only come home so late at night, but he didn't understand that this was the only way you could see Paal.
So you choose to ignore the little voice inside your head that has been telling you to not take the heat from your brother's sharp words this time. You didn't know however that tonight he would take things too far, almost to the point where you began to loath him.
"Look I know you trying your best to not retaliate, and I appreciate that, but seriously (y/n), I'm only trying to make sure that you're safe. So until you see that I only want what is best for you, you are not allowed to leave this house at night ever again." He says with authority.
You slam the book shut and quickly rise from your chair which caused it to crash down to the ground. You were furious, beyond furious, you were mad with rage. How can he, a man who doesn't mind if he goes off somewhere that would possible kill him, tell you that you weren't allowed to leave the house to go frolicking through the woods to meet the mysteriously handsome Indian boy that might have already stolen your heart? He had no right to take away your freedom like that, because for one thing, he knew what it would do to you.
You couldn't stand being indoors, not even for a split second, which is why you would usually leave your window open at night so that you could breath in the smell of the summer rain and the forest that has captivated your heart as much as the beautiful man that roams it. You felt one with the earth and all of the beautiful things it had to offer, which is why you always had the edge to leave the claustrophobic atmosphere that invaded the house you shared with your brother, because it was dull and lifeless. So taking away the freedom to roam freely through the woods from you was almost like he was taking away part of your soul, which is what caused you to finally snap.
"You don't think that I don't know how dangerous the woods could get at night? You don't ever wonder about if I ever have nightmares about going into the woods and never coming back out? I know the risks of taking the path that I have chosen, and I know what would happen if something were to ever happen while I was in the woods, but dammit John you don't know all of the freaking details because you still can't seem to see the big fucking picture that has been in front of you the entire time. I am not a child anymore, and yes I know that I would get hurt as much as I would if I were little, but you need to face reality and see that I don't need your protection anymore because whether you like it or not I have to grow up and face the world on my own. So I'm sorry if I'm not the fucking perfect sibling that you've always wanted me to be, I'll leave so that your non-dramatic happy life can keep going on with it peaceful existence."
With that being said, you grab your shaw and open the door that lead to your beautiful utopia outside, you didn't even bother to look back as you slammed the door shut behind you and stormed off into the clearing that misted in front of you.
~Back to present~
You took the path slow with care for you feared that you wouldn't get to see all of the details of the captivating scenery before you. The chirping of the birds and the sound of crunching leaves underneath your boots was like music to your ears. You couldn't help but smile at the cosmic melodies for they truly were some of the things that made you happy.
As you got closer to the clearing, however, you could hear the bell-like laugh of a female. You stepped up behind a tree to see a heart aching site. Paal was sitting cross-legged in front of a female Native that was beautiful beyond compare. You couldn't quite hear their conversation, but she must have said something funny because his angelic laugh began to echo across the pond and when it reached your ears, it tugged at your heart in the most painful way. Your despondency got the best of you because as you saw a pink tint in the female's cheeks, tears slowly began to form in your eyes.
You knew of coarse that he couldn't possibly belong to you forever, but actually seeing it sent your heart into such a painful spasm that you didn't think you could take the agony of watching the two of them any longer. You turned on your heel and began to run, you didn't even stop when his husky voice called out your name. You knew that if you turned back around, your heart wouldn't be able to handle the words of rejection that would come out of his mouth.
So you ran away from everything. You ran away from your home. You ran away from the brother who would only tell you 'I told you so' if you ever ran back to him. You ran away from the thought of the one person you thought you could give your heart to actually finding love with someone else. You ran away not knowing that that person was now worried about you because of the way you ran off. You also ran away not knowing that your shaw was caught by the wind and is slowly making its way to your home where your brother was sitting on the doorstep praying that you would come back.
You don't know any of these things nor will you ever remember anything because while you were running, you were grabbed from behind. While you struggled to break free, with you thinking about how right your brother truly was about the danger of the woods, the shadowed man lifted a rock over his head and then soon smashed it down onto your skull, thus causing you to loose consciousness.
And all you could here before slipping into the darkness was a faint familiar voice saying, "We can finally be together now," before you slowly gave way to the pure nothingness that was the solitary confinement known as the darkness.
A/N: Who could the shadow man be? Will you ever get to see Paal or your brother ever again or will you be separated from the two people who care so much for you until the day you die?
Guess you'll have to read the next chapter to find out.
P.S. - Sorry it took so long guys I hope you enjoyed it and go ahead and tell me what you think about it. K'bye ♧
