It all started with a howl that ended with you being alone and covered in your dead father's blood. The scene was too horrifying to explain to your mother what exactly happened, but the moment some men from the inner town rolled your father's rotting corpse past the door of your hospital room, a breathtakingly horrifying scream escaped from her throat. You watched as your mother slowly broke down into a uncontrollably sobbing mess, the fact that you didn't know what to do made you realize that you were absolutely useless when it comes to things like this.

The scene flashes in your mind thus causing you to cringe while covering your ears as the sound of your father fighting the gruesome beast began to fill your ears. You remembered that he told you to run, but the moment that the beast's yellow eyes met your's, you were hypnotized to stay frozen in place. Somehow you knew that if you don't do something soon, your father would be killed and then soon the thing will turn on you and then you'd both be dead, but all you could do was watch as the thing's clause ripped your father's beating heart right out of his chest, his blood gushing out, causing some of it to attach to your skin and clothes.

The black shadowed fiend smiled at his handy work as he crushes your father's heart into nothing but a gooy mess as your father's body crashes to the ground. His lifeless stormy grey eyes stare at you as you let out a heartwretching scream that seemed to shake the monster out of his captivating trance. Once his soul essential yellow eyes turned on you, that was your cue to run, which is exactly what you did.

You ran past all of the trees, nearly tripping twice over a fallen tree branch. Your breathing become more ragid and come out in whizzing gasps as the tears of heartbreak slowly began to flow out of your eyes, causing your vision to blur. Questions like - Why did I just stand there? and Why wasn't I strong enough to save him? began to slowly enter your mind as your village began to come into view.

Before you made it past the entrance, however, it pulled you back causing you to scream out in agony as his claws bury themselves into your forearms, thinking that you had no escape you decided that it was better to let the thing have you rather than to struggle and have it make a complete mess out of you, but something in the distance caught it's attention.

It let you go and ran into the woods leaving you to bleed out as you fell down onto your knees, you would have fell onto the ground if strong arms didn't catch you before you made the imapct. You look up with blurry eyes to see a man in a wool coat, red trousers and black combat boots lift you up off your knees and held you like you were a new-born baby. His crystal-blue eyes showed promises of vengence and protection, something that you never dreamed of needing before, but you couldn't help but wonder why his snow-white beard and rosy cheeks reminded you of someone you met a long time ago. His nostalgic presence made you more comfortable in his arms, and little too comfortable as you realized that you were slowly dying.

You could hear foot steps all around you as you began to fade in and out of the bittersweet darkness that seemed to be calling your name. Muffled voices could be heard while you were in this state, and you could hear bits and pieces of the conversations that seemed to be going on around you.

"What was he/she even doing in the woods during this time of day?" An Australian voice asked in annoyance and anger.

"Her/His father had brought him/her with him for a hunting lesson that had apparently gone wrong." Said a deep Russian voice that was full of sadness.

"What happened to the father?" A female voice asked.

"He was already dead before I could get to them on time." The Russion voice said again.

"What do we tell Jacky when she sees this girl/boy hurt like this? You know she is going to want revenge because this human boy/girl is special to her." The Australian voice said with just as much sadness.

"You know we have to tell her the truth, that Pitch is letting some of his nightmares run rouge again and that he/she barely got away but the father didn't." The female voice said again.

Foot steps could be heard within an instant and that's when all hell broke loose.

"What the hell happened?!" A familiar voice practically screamed as the foot steps turned into what sounded like running.

You felt a hand caress your face, it was a slow, yet sweet touch that you have felt countless times before.

"W-who did this to (y/n)?" The familiar voice asked in an angry tone.

"One of Pitch's nightmares, Jacky. None of us got to him/her in time to save the father, but we did manage to get to him/her on time to save him/her from getting killed." The Russian voice said.

"But he/she still got hurt dammit!" The voice you now recognized as Jacky's was now practically yelling.

"Jacky . . ." You whispered through the pain.

You could tell that all eyes were on you, even though you couldn't see at the moment.

"I'm here (y/n), I'm not going to let anything else happen to you, I promise." She said on a sob.

You tried to smile, but the pain was becoming unbearable.

"I . . . I think . . . I'm . . . dying." You said in coherent words, but sure enough they heard you.

"Clause take him/her to the hospital and make sure that they treat him/her right away." Jacky said in a worried tone.

You could fell yourself begin to shift as the person who was carrying you began to take you to the hospital in a run. You couldn't hear the rest of the conversation as you slowly gave yourself up to the darkness.

That's when you come back to the present when the doctor comes in.

"How is everyone doing this evening?" The doctor tries to say in a pleasant tone.

You open your eyes to see a young women with green hair and big purple eyes smile at you as she ones to stand at your side. You looked in her eyes and saw in their depths sorrow and pity.

You looked away not wanting to see that anymore.

"Please tell me that he/she will be alright, I don't think I could bare the thought of losing my oldest child too." You heard your mother pleading with the doctor.

She smiled at your mother.

"(Y/N) will be fine, but we should keep him/her overnight to make sure that he/she doesn't faint from all the blood he/she has lost." The doctor says sweetly.

You sighed in relief that nothing bad actually happened to you, but you couldn't help but wonder why you were left alive and your father wasnt.

~ That Night~

You sleep soundly in you bed as Sandy fills your head with nothing but good dreams to try to suppress the memory of your father dying. He did this because Jacky had requested it, she didn't want you to be shook up when you had just experienced his death in real life.

He smiles as you smile at the wonderful dream you were having.

He the exits the window and makes his way to the other children's houses to bring goodness to their dreams. That's when Jacky entered to watch over you while you slept. She knew she needed to get revenge for you, but she didn't want you to get involved anymore.

She knew how much it would hurt you to tell you that she couldn't see you anymore, because it would hurt her even more for you were the only person she has ever truly loved and she knew she couldn't love anyone like she loved you ever again. But it had to be done, too much was at stake and with the thought of what might happen to you being always on her mind, she wouldn't be able to do what needed to be done as her job as a guardian. Which was why she needed to let this thing between the two of you go before she loses you forever.

But little did she know that the two of you being apart will be just as dangerous as being together.
