Chapter 4

   Y/N'S POV

  As I followed Superman's eyes, I noticed him staring at Krypto. Krypto barked and ran to Superman.

  Superman chuckled and crouched down to his level saying,"I missed you, too, boy. How did you get here? I have been looking everywhere for you!"

  Krypto leaned into Superman's touch, as Superman rubbed his head gently.

  He looked at me and I smiled saying,"I knew he belonged to someone who was very special or even top secret, so I decided to take care of him. We have not left each other's side since, but I am sure it is because Krypto was aware of us knowing each other."

  Superman nodded and smiled down at Krypto, before Superman got up and walked over to me.

  My breath quickened and he chuckled saying,"Krypto does have many talents, so he knew all along. He is a loyal dog, which you can always admire. As much as I love to talk about Krypto, I could really use your help about now.."

  I giggled and nodded saying,"What is it, Kent?"

  Something seemed to change in Superman's eyes and he looked almost..nervous. I was confused as to why as I realized I had just called him Clark.

  I waved it off and sincerely said,"I am sorry, I was just thinking about Clark at the moment.."

  Superman smirked and leaned on his arm, and I quickly said,"Not in that way, Man of Steel. Can we just go now?"

  Superman smiled at me for a minute, before he held out his hand. Oh..I don't do heights...

  My breath got caught in my throat, and I finally managed to get out,"We..we...have to..fly..there?"

  Superman nodded and chuckled saying,"How else would we get there, Y/N? Everything is going to be okay..I promise to not let go and protect you. Take my hands.."

  I searched Superman's eyes, and all I could find was pure honesty and hope in them. I smiled slightly, because I maybe felt something else.
  As I slowly put my hands in his, Superman looked down at our hands. I went to let go, but he held my hands tighter.

  I smiled and wrapped my arms around Superman's neck, before he took off. I looked over and saw Krypto flying next to us.

  I held a shocked expression on my face, while Superman closed my mouth and said,"Yeah, Krypto has powers, too. It is amazing, is it not?"

  I just nodded and Krypto licked my face, which made me laugh.

  Superman smiled and said,"Looks like you two got along fine. Krypto really likes you, that is a good thing.."

  I looked into Superman's eyes saying,"Is he the only one?"

  I did not realize what I just said, until it already came out my mouth. I wished I could take it back, but at the same time, I wanted to know Superman's answer. I wanted to know if I meant something more than just a friend to him..Superman slowly moved my hand from my mouth, before he seemed to be getting closer to me by the second.
  I tried to get some air, but I wanted this more than anything. As our lips almost touched, I realized we were heading towards a tall skyscraper. I quickly grabbed his cape and pulled us to the side, before Superman dodged the pole.

  I actually laughed, yet Superman didn't.

  Superman cleared his throat, and I sighed saying,"Superman, I-"

  Superman waited for me to say something, but I could not bring myself to saying the words.

  Superman rested his hand on my cheek and softly said,"What is it, Y/N?"

  I took a deep breath and went to confess it, but we had arrived at the Hall of Justice.
  Superman carefully stepped down, and we were finally back on the ground. I sighed in relief and said a prayer, which caused Superman to laugh this time.

  Superman brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it gently, which caused my head to spin.

  He squeezed my hand and said,"I appreciate this, Y/N. I-"

  Superman stopped himself, and I followed his eyes to see Batman and Wonder Woman coming towards us. I stood there in awe, because I had never seen them in person before. My younger sister was a huge Batman fan, so maybe I would try to get him to see her.
  They stopped in front of us and Wonder Woman sent me a smile, while Batman nodded in greeting.

  I just smiled back, while Superman motioned to me saying,"Batman, Wonder Woman, well Diana, this is Y/N. Y/N is a close friend.."

  Nothing like the friend zone. Loved it..

  I sighed, following Diana. Batman went with Superman, while they talked about something concerning the League.

  Diana looked over at me and said,"What's wrong, Y/N?"

  I looked down and opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Diana frowned and took my hand, before she led me inside the library.

  Diana sat me down, while I looked her in the eyes saying,"I have tried to tell him, but it is just so hard. I feel like if I say something, then Superman will not feel the same. Why would he love me, when Lois is probably somewhere falling off of a building right now.."

  Diana rubbed my back, but held my hand and curiously said,"Was that jealousy that I just heard? Y/N, if Superman trusts you to bring you here, it is a big deal. He must see something in you. Superman does see something in you..Trust me, I would root for you any time over Lois. She does not have the heart like you do..Have patience, okay? He will come around. All men do when they truly love someone."

  I nodded and sniffed saying,"Thanks, Diana. That means a lot to me..I do not know how to thank you.."

  Diana pulled me up and said,"Thank me by going and telling the Man of Steel how ya feel!!"

  Diana pushed me towards the main entrance, before I spotted Superman still chatting with Batman. Batman noticed me and sent me a smile, which I heard was rare from him. I just smiled wider at him, until he followed Diana. I walked up to Superman and went to say something, but I was caught off-guard by warm lips meeting my cold ones.
