Chapter 61

    Y/N'S POV

  "What is this about, Alfred? Bruce will be okay, right?"

  Alfred nodded and sent me a reassuring smile saying,"Master Bruce will be fine, Mrs. Kent. I wanted to speak with you about Master Kent.."

  I looked at Alfred confused but asked him,"What about Clark? Did he make fun of you? Alfred, you have to tell me these things.."

  Alfred chuckled and said,"No. I would let you know if that occurred, Mrs. Kent, but Master Bruce informed me that before he was attacked, he encountered a Metallo. Does that name ring a bell, Mrs. Kent?"

  I nodded and sighed saying,"Yes, Alfred, it does. What would Metallo want with Bruce, though?"

  Alfred said,"I am not sure, but Master Bruce was not sure either. I just wanted to let you know, because I know you care deeply about Master Wayne and Master Kent. How is young Ms. Kent doing?"

  I smiled at Alfred, before I took Jade from Helena and gently handed her to Alfred. I knew Alfred was too polite to ask himself, but I knew he wanted to hold her himself.

  Alfred smiled and Jade immediately played with Alfred's suit, while I just smiled and put my hand on Alfred's shoulder saying,"I would think Jade's grandfather deserves to hold her."

  Alfred sent me a small smile, before I asked Alfred,"Do you think Metallo is after Clark?"

  Alfred shrugged saying,"I am not sure, Mrs. Kent, but I know Master Kent knows how to take care of himself. I am sorry to worry you, Mrs. Kent. I just wanted to make sure you were aware. That was rather odd.."

  I nodded and said,"Very. I will keep my guard up, too, Alfred. Thanks for letting me know. Normally, I would not worry, but everything changes when you have a child. Alfred, what do you think about if I brought Jade over there from time to time to spend time with Bruce, the boys, and you?"

  Jade was playing with Alfred's hair and messing it up, while she would continue to bump her head into Alfred's.

  Alfred laughed and fixed Jade's bib saying,"That would be fine, Mrs. Kent. I would like to see my grandchild."

  I nodded and Alfred handed Jade back to me, before I walked Jade in Bruce's room. When Bruce saw Jade, his eyes lit up and he smiled at her.

  Jade put her face in my neck, before Bruce chuckled and tickled Jade a little bit.

  Jade took her face out of my neck, before Bruce said,"Look at you, beautiful. Y/N, can I-"

  I immediately nodded and sat Jade in Bruce's lap. Jade noticed the chords that Bruce was attached to, before she looked at them confused and began trying to remove them.
  Clark gently pulled her away from them, before Jade rubbed her eyes and she double blinked a few times. I figured she had something in her eyes, so I went to help her.

  Bruce stopped me and Jade held on to Bruce's right hand, while Bruce used the left to get whatever it was out of Jade's eye.
  After Bruce made sure her eye was okay, Jade leaned on Bruce and tried to give him her bear.

  Bruce smiled at her and took it, before Jade's pacifier fell. Bruce got it before it could hit the floor.

  I smirked and said,"Nice catch, Batman. Nice catch."

  Bruce sent me a wink, before he asked me,"Were you worried about me? Y/N, be honest. Clark, was she worried?"

  Bruce turned to Clark, and I looked at Clark.

  Clark blushed, but he nodded saying,"She was, and so was I. You are family, Bruce, so we would not miss being here for the world. Bruce, we better get back home."

  Bruce shook Clark's hand, before Bruce hugged me.

  I hugged back and pulled away saying,"I am sure the boys and Alfred have got you covered, but you let me know the instant you need help or something is not right. Bruce Wayne.."

  Bruce smiled and said,"I will. I will. You let me know if Jade needs me, I will be there."

  I laughed and nodded, before Clark led Jade and I out. Once we made it out to the car, I put Jade in her seat and sat down beside her. Jade liked to look around and see someone she knew, even when we were in the car.

  I gave her one of her toys, while she played with it, and Clark drove us back to our house.
  Once we got there, Jade was already asleep, and I immediately put her in her crib.

  While Clark made his way into the bathroom, I asked him,"Baby?"

  Clark poked his head out of the bathroom and said,"Yes, Sweetheart?"

  I sighed saying,"We need to talk."

  Clark nodded and I let him change into his t-shirt and shorts, before he sat down beside me and intertwined his fingers with mine asking me,"What's on your mind, sweetheart?"

  I brought Clark's hand up to my face and said,"I am worried about you, Clark. Alfred told me that Metallo came to Bruce, well Batman and said he was coming for you. C..Clark, I don't want anything to happen to you."

  Clark wiped my tears with his thumb, before he said,"Honey, I will be fine. If Metallo is after me, then I can promise you that I will do everything I can to protect you and Jade. You two are my world, and there is nothing I would not do to keep someone else from ruining that. Everything will be okay."

  Clark put his forehead on mine, while I nodded and let the rest of my tears fall. Clark shushed me and rubbed my shoulders, before he pulled me into his arms and did his best to reassure me that he would be okay.
