Chapter 30

   Y/N'S POV

  As I tried to reach for the door, my foot was stuck in between the seat. I winced in pain but searched for anything I could use to get my foot out. I saw a crowbar and pulled that, before I put it in between the bent door and pushed it out.
  I groaned in pain, before I dragged myself out of the door. I hit the ground and tried to get my phone. Someone stepped on my hand and I yelped out in pain. I was then picked up and put over someone's shoulder.

  I tried to fight back, but I could not hold on for much longer. I slowly closed my eyes, before everything felt black.

  I get that you're probably confused, so let's rewind this back to 4 hours earlier, yeah?

   4 HOURS EARLIER

   Y/N'S POV

  Today, Clark and I were invited to some event for the Daily Planet. We had only a few minutes to get there, but Clark couldn't find his tie.

  I giggled at the thought of him being so stressed, before I walked in the room and said,"Kent, looking for this?"

  Clark sighed in relief and kissed me saying,"You're a life-saver. I love you.."

  I smiled and kissed Clark's nose saying,"I love you, too. C'mon, we're gonna be late."

  I grabbed Clark's hand, before I led him to the car. Clark got there in time, before we were surrounded by cameras and reporters. I double blinked and tightly held onto Clark's hand, which he gladly let me do.

  I just smiled and sighed in relief, once we got in.

  Clark chuckled saying,"I'll go grab you some water, Y/N. Be right back.."

  Clark gave me a look, and I knew what he was doing.

  I groaned and whined saying,"Kent, I can do it myself. I'm not a damsel in distress, you know? Not that I don't appreciate all the times you saved me and-"

  Clark cut me off by kissing me softly.

  I kissed back, before he pulled away and said,"I understand, Y/N, I do. It's just I didn't want you to go through the trouble of getting lost. I know you don't know how to read so.."

  I pouted and pushed Clark over, before he chuckled and made his way over to the refreshment table. I couldn't help, but smile, and I knew Clark was just playing around.

  Yes, I could read, I promise.

  Clark came back and handed me my water, before we sat down at one of the available tables.

  Perry walked up on stage and said,"Thank you all for coming. This event was held to honor all our valuable and honorary members who served through every treacherous situation that Metropolis has thrown at us. I'm sure they've had their moments, but we'll always strive to learn something from them."

  Everyone clapped after Perry got done with his speech.

  Perry walked over to our table and said,"Glad to see you guys could make it. This wouldn't have been possible without the extra help you guys put in to make it happen. Thank you Mr. Kent and Miss L/N."

  I smiled back and smirked saying,"That almost sounded like you were thanking us? Perry, I gotta say you're getting softer. Maybe you should see some kind of doctor, because that's definitely not normal..at all.."

  Perry chuckled and said,"Ha ha, never one to back down on the jokes huh, Miss L/N? Today's just your lucky day, huh?"

  I noticed a particular look in Clark's eye I knew too well by now.

  Clark pulled us away from Perry, before he sincerely said,"I'm sorry, Y/N, but it's work. I-"

  I cut Clark off by putting a finger on his lips saying,"It's all right, Clark. Go and be you, okay? Just be safe and do whatever it takes to save someone's life. GO, KANSAS!!"

  Clark chuckled and pecked my lips saying,"I love you, Y/N."

  I smiled and said,"I love you, too, Superman."

  After Clark left, I shortly left the event after and headed out to my car. I felt as if someone was watching me, before I turned around and no one was there. Maybe I should get home now..
  I quickly got in the car and started the engine, then I backed out and made my way back towards my house. I was approaching a red light and tried to stop, but I realized the break wasn't working.

  That's..that's not good. I tried to stop, but I couldn't. I swerved out of the way of the on-coming traffic and found myself on a back street. I hated back streets, well shortcuts at night. I tried to make a turn, but then the wheel got stuck and wouldn't turn.
  I immediately gulped. My car smashed through the railing and down one of the hills. The air bag came out, and the landing was really rough. I groaned in pain and painfully tried to get off my seat belt.

  I cut it off, before I painfully made my way out of the car. If only 4 hours ago, I would've known I had something else coming...
