Chapter 41

   CLARK'S POV

  I was helping Bruce rearrange some of the furniture in the house, before I gently set it down and looked towards upstairs.

  Bruce chuckled and said,"Hear something, Kent? It's okay, go ahead..I can handle the rest of it.."
        
  I thanked Bruce, before I jogged up the stairs and made my way into Y/N and I's bedroom.

  I picked up the phone and Y/N's beautiful voice answered the phone saying,"Hey, Kansas, I just wanted to let you know that I'll be there in about an hour or two. Hopefully, you haven't been bored the whole time.."

  I chuckled and replied back saying,"No, but I do miss you. Don't worry, I'm doing just fine. Just stay safe and make sure you don't get distracted okay?"

  Y/N giggled over the phone and said,"Yes sir, Superman. Well, I gotta go, since I can't talk to you and think straight at the same time. I love you, Clark."

  I smiled and ended the call saying,"I love you more, darling. Bye.."

  I jogged back down the stairs and saw that everyone was already here.

  I looked at Bruce and he smiled at me saying,"I knew you'd probably be devastated if no one showed up, so I made sure that they got here earlier than expected. You owe me."

  Bruce patted my shoulder, before he walked with Selina in the kitchen to help her check on the cake. The doorbell rang and I knew it was Y/N, because Krypto immediately ran to the door. He barked loudly and ran around in circles.
  Mrs. L/N smiled and kissed my cheek, before she greeted Y/N at the door. Y/N hugged her mother, while her eyes met mine. She blushed, but blew me a kiss.

  I smiled and made my way over to her; however, Kara stopped me and smirked saying,"Whoa, Clark, don't forget these. You better be glad you have me around, because Conner wouldn't know what to do to help you out on these things."

  I hugged Kara, before she and Krypto went into the living room. I handed Y/N the flowers, before she immediately pulled me in for a kiss.

   Y/N'S POV

  Once I saw Clark walking towards me, I couldn't wait to be in his embrace. Kara stopped him and handed him flowers, which I pretended not to see. I smiled at how much Clark got along with Kara, because families don't always get along. Trust me, I know..
  Clark eventually made his way over to me and handed me the beautiful roses. I smiled and couldn't contain myself, before I immediately pulled Clark in for a kiss. Clark chuckled, but kissed back and brought me closer.

  I smiled in the kiss and couldn't wait to officially be "Mrs. Kent." I had always dreamed of having that name, but now, it was almost time for that dream to come true. Clark slowly pulled away and held up my hand. He examined the ring he gave me, while he gently rubbed his thumb across it.
  I leaned on Clark, before he placed a kiss on my ring and each of my fingers. Clark wrapped his arms around my waistline, and I buried my face in his neck. I heard aww's coming from around us, while I pulled away from the Clark. I could not have missed everyone being present.

  I looked up at Clark and said,"Kansas, what's going on? Why is everyone here?"

 Clark smiled down at me and placed a kiss on my forehead saying,"Because we're engaged now, Y/N, and I want everyone to know that you're mine. I've been planning this and setting this up for you ever since you left, so I just wanted to do something nice for you, I guess.."

  I felt the tears coming, while Mom joked saying,"Oh no, here comes the tears. She's so dramatic!!"

  I giggled softly at Mom, but my voice cracked when I tried to thank Clark.

  Clark pulled me even closer and nuzzled his nose against mine saying,"There's no need to say anything, sweetheart, because I already know. Go.."

  Clark gently pushed me forward, before I went to go talk to Perry and Candice.

  Perry smiled at me and said,"Congratulations. I knew this was going to happen since you two first passed by each other."

  I looked at Perry confused, before he chuckled saying,"It's amazing how we figure out these sort of things, but you two were always so close and there for each other. It's been a pleasure working with both of you; especially Kent."

  I smiled and hugged Perry, before he hugged back. Clark took my side and shook Perry's hand, while we talked to Perry a little bit longer. Clark grabbed my hand and led me away from the crowd and into the kitchen.
  Once we made it inside, I gasped at the sight before me. It was the most beautiful cake I've ever seen.

  Tears filled my eyes and Mom playfully rolled her eyes again, while I chuckled and pinched Clark's cheek saying,"Kent, I don't know what I've done to deserve you, but I'll do my best to keep you."

  Clark sent me a once and a lifetime smile saying,"I know. The same goes for you. You'll always me by girl.."
