Chapter 40

   CLARK'S POV

  Right now, I was playing a game of chess with Barry. I, once, heard from Doctor Wells, before Flash found out about the thing with his mother, that Barry was very good at chess. He would use his speed to his advantage with multiple things, but I, too, had speed. I smirked, but chuckled at Barry looking so excited because he thought he was gonna win. When it turned out to be the exact opposite, Barry frowned and threw the board.

  I smirked and said,"Someone's not happy.."

  Barry bent down over the table and said,"You cheated, I know you did!! I have to go catch up with Ollie, but this isn't over, Superman!"

  I smiled as I watched Flash dash out of the conference room, before Batman and Martian Manhunter came in.

  Batman sent me a nod, while J'onn gave me a warm smile and welcome saying,"Hello, Superman. Is everything all right?"

  I nodded and got up, before Batman chuckled and smiled at me saying,"It looks like he's had a long night, J'onn. I bet Y/N probably smiled at him or something..Probably made him weak and Boyscout couldn't say no."

  I just looked at Bruce, while Batman shrugged it off and sat down saying,"What do you need, Clark? I'm actually surprised you're not with Y/N right now. By the way, Congratulations.."

  I looked at Bruce confused and said,"How did you know already, Bruce? We haven't told anyone yet."

  Batman smirked and sat back in his chair, while I rolled my eyes and continued saying,"Thanks, Batman. You're not so bad when you actually use your soft side..I actually wanted to talk to you about Y/N and I's engagement party. You're great at throwing parties and I need some help. Would you mind helping me?"

  Batman took off his mask and stood up, before I did the same.

  He walked up to me and shook my hand saying,"From Gotham's biggest socialite to Kansas' biggest nerd, it's the least I can do for you, Clark."

  Once I actually took in what Bruce said, I scrunched up my nose and rolled my eyes at him again. What a lot of people didn't know about Bruce was the man did have a sense of humor, no matter how dark and scary he may seem on the outside.
  I managed to turn that frown into a smile, before Bruce chuckled and patted my shoulder. He motioned for me to follow him, while I smiled to myself, knowing I had asked the best person for party advice. I just hoped Y/N was doing all right with the dress shopping.

    Y/N'S POV

  As I made my way into the wedding shop that a good friend of mine recommended, I was completely in awe of the beautiful dresses out on display. I really had my eye set on one in particular, though.
  It was red with a nice floral design going across the cleavage area. I hope it wasn't too much, but everyone always wanted white..Hey, I wanted to be different, okay? I wanted this to be a dress Clark would never forget and one that I would feel amazing in..

  After watching Say Yes To the Dress, I learned that it's better to not bring your fiance to the shop with you. They would make it worse, however they think they're helping. Sometimes they had specific ideas already set for you as their wife, yet you might have different taste than them.

  A woman walked up to me and sent me a smile saying,"Is this the one you've had your eye on?"

  Once I turned around and recognized the woman, I smiled and she said,"Hello, Y/N. Long time no see, huh? I guess you found the one, huh? Well, I'm gonna make sure everything goes well today. We just have to get you fitted and measured to know what size you need. Right this way..Your friends can go and sit.."

  How did I forget they were even here? I was such a bad friend sometimes, but I had just been really focused on getting married to Clark. Would you blame me? I mean, he was Superman...
I snapped out of my thoughts after Clarise came back with my dress.  
  Already, I was claiming this dress as my dress. I gently took it from Clarise in thank you, because she was one of my closest friends. Just because she was my friend, doesn't mean she changed the price though..

  She smiled and gently pushed me along, before I went into the back and changed into the dress. Once I was down, Clarise helped me hold the back of my dress, while I made sure the front was okay.
  Once I stood in front of everyone and turned around to face the mirror, tears immediately fell down my face.

  Diana, yes Wonder Woman, rushed to my side and wiped my tears saying,"You look beautiful, Y/N. What do you think?"

  I smiled through my tears and said,"I think that is definitely the one I've always dreamed about. I'm saying Yes To THE Dress!"

  Everyone chuckled and cheered, before Clarise helped me get out of the dress. Once we left, I made sure that everything was put in a safe place, before the girls and I headed out. I wondered what Clark was doing..
