Chapter 64

    CLARK'S POV

   While Y/N was still asleep, I had received word from Jimmy that Perry needed me at the Daily Planet. I had taken quite some time away from my job, but Y/N and Jade were the most important people to me right now.
   I wanted the best for both of them, but I also knew that Y/N was exited about her powers that she was discovering for the first time. It brought a smile to my face seeing how excited she was, but it also made me frown, too.

   I loved that she had powers, but what if they caused her to be a target? What if she got herself hurt? What if someone found out and came after her? What if it was someone we both knew and trusted? What if Jade got in the middle of that?
   I had no doubt that Jade would end up with powers, as well, which made thing even more crazy for me. I just knew I needed to be a supportive father for Jade, and a supportive husband for Y/N.

   Speaking of Y/N, she was doing some moving around in her sleep. I ignored it at first and figured it was just her trying to get comfortable, but it was more than that.
   She started to leave the bed and began to whimper. I grabbed her leg and gently pulled her back down. Her eyes opened for a few moments, and they were overcome with red. Her E/C eyes were now red.

   I sighed and realized she had heat vision, as well, but I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed her back slowly.
   Y/N closed her eyes and began to stop whimpering, before she calmed down and fell back asleep. I kissed her forehead and wrapped the covers around Y/N, before I got up and checked on Jade.

   Jade was sound asleep and her heartbeat was steady, which was a good thing. I smiled at seeing her in her Batman pajamas, even though she should have been wearing Superman ones.
   I got over it, because I knew how much Jade loved her Uncle Bruce. It was nice to know people like Bruce had my back, even Diana who constantly bought things for Jade to wear.

   I made my way out of the house and towards the Daily Planet.

    Y/N'S POV

   When I woke up, I noticed Clark was not beside me. I knew he was here, because I did remember having a bad dream earlier.
   Jade just happened to start crying, but I looked at the time and realized she woke up a little later than she normally did.

   I got up from the bed and yawned saying,"All right. All right. Mommy is coming."

   I made it over to Jade's bed and picked her up, before I grabbed three of Jade's toys and carried her over to Clark and I's bed.
   I gently sat down with her, before I put her in between my legs and she played with her toys I picked out for her.

   Jade looked back at me and showed one to me, before I giggled and smiled down at her saying,"That is cool, Jade."

   Jade mumbled somethings, before I fixed her outfit and leaned back on the headboard.
I sighed and hoped Clark was okay, but I knew I was probably just worried for nothing. I knew Clark well enough to know he was worried about me, but I was worried about myself, too.

   Before I could focus on that, someone flew in the room and it was Kara.

   I jumped and asked her,"Kara, how did you get in here?"

   Kara turned to me and said,"Sorry. I should have knocked, but Batman told me about your powers and I want to help."

   I smiled at Kara and she noticed Jade, before she squealed and flew over to Jade. Jade looked at Kara confused, but played with Kara's cape.

   Kara picked up Jade saying,"Aww, she is adorable. I know Kal adores her already. What is her name?"

   I was sure Kara came to the party we had for Jade, but I was not sure and said,"Her name is Jade. She is about 2 months old."

   Kara smiled at Jade and Jade rested her hand on Kara's face. I apologized and Kara asked me,"Can I take her for a fly? Please Y/N.."

   I sighed saying,"Kara, I do not know about that. I do not know if Jade can handle all of that air in her face and she gets agitated pretty easily."

   Kara said,"I will be real careful. I promise! I will barely be off the ground. It will be real quick."

   I gave in and said,"Fine, but you bring her back the second Jade acts up."

   Kara nodded and hugged me, before she flew out of the window with Jade. I was very nervous about Kara flying around with Jade, but I knew it was a part of me stepping back and letting Jade see the world she was going to be growing up in.
   While I waited for Jade and Kara to return, I called Clark to check on him. He said he was on the way home, so I headed down the stairs and started cooking dinner.

   Once dinner was almost ready, I went back up the stairs and Kara had returned, along with Superman and a sleeping Jade in his arms.

   I smiled and embraced Clark, before he hugged back and gave me a kiss saying,"I missed you, too, sweetheart. Everything go okay today?"

   I nodded and took Jade from him, before I laid her down and said,"Fine. I was just making dinner. Get changed and come down for dinner. Kara, would you like to stay?"

   Kara smiled saying,"I would love to."
