We're going into the Batman v Superman direction now for a couple of chapters.
Y/N'S POV
Lately, work had became harder and more upsetting for Clark. He was, well Superman, had had the weight of the world on his shoulders, and I knew how hard it was bringing him down. It could be tough knowing that your most trusted allies has turned against you, just because of an event that was not necessarily your fault.
I was not saying that those people deserved to die, but Clark did not know that happened. He was just trying to stop Zod from destroying the rest of Metropolis and keep him from bringing Krypton here.
Right now, I watched as Clark sat down on the couch. He watched intensively as the news pressured on Superman's existence.
I immediately turned the T.V. off and sternly said,"Clark Joseph Kent, what are you doing? Don't you dare listen to a word they say about you, because you deserve to be here just as much as they do."
Clark sighed, and I took the chance to sit down beside him. I held out my hand, and Clark intertwined his fingers with mine. I placed a gentle kiss on his hand and rested my head on Clark's chest. Clark wrapped his arms around me and tightened his grip around me.
We stayed like that for a few minutes, before I snuggled more into Clark.
Clark gently pushed me up and apologetically said,"I am sorry darling, but I have to..go."
I pouted and sat up on the sofa. Clark kissed my forhead, before he jogged into the bedroom. I hope Clark would get better, because he may have said he was fine, but I could tell he was not fine at all. I walked into the bedroom and found Superman leaning on the terrace.
He had his arms crossed and lost somewhere in his thoughts. I frowned and walked over to him, before I wrapped my arms around his neck.
Superman leaned down and rested his forhead on my own, while I closed my eyes and mumbled,"What is wrong, love?"
Superman sighed, which caused me to open my eyes.
He stroked my cheek slowly and said,"Do you think I am making a difference here? Do you think my father would have been proud?"
I held on to his cape tightly, before I let go of it saying,"Of course you are, honey. You have sacrificed your life plenty of times for those you love, so do not start thinking any differently. You go to that conference and show them the strong and determined man that you are. They are wrong about you, Clark; the world is wrong about you. Just know that I will be here watching you every step of the way, okay?"
Superman smiled and pecked my lips saying,"I love you, Y/N. I will be back as soon as I can, I promise.."
I placed a kiss on Clark's hands, before he had a certain look in his blue eyes.
Superman bolted off, after I yelled,"CLARK?!!"
I sighed and headed back inside, then I sat down on the couch. Krypto jumped on my lap, and I held him while we watched the Senator give her speech to the audience.
As she got done, I watched as the doors opened. Standing tall yet silent, Superman walked through the aisle way.
I frowned, because Clark did not need all of this on him. Clark did not do anything no other hero would not have done, if they had his abilities. Clark stood at the platform and stood still, while the Senator addressed him.
I could tell something was wrong, by the way the Senator started to stutter and could not finish her phrases. Clark noticed, too, before he examined the Senator closely. There was a disruption on the links, before the Capitol bursts into flames.
My breath got caught in my throat and I felt sick to my stomach. Krypto barked at the scene and ran towards the front door. No!!.. Clark was still alive, there was no way he could have died from that explosion.
I ran to the front door and noticed Krypto sitting there. He looked around for Clark. I did not do the same, knowing that he would come here. Tears still managed to fall down my face, because this was not going to get any easier for Clark. I knew that now, but I was too realistic to realize that they were just going to push him harder. Much harder now.
Right now, Clark needed me, and I was going to do everything I could to keep him positive. Krypto and I waited for the longest, but still no Superman. I jogged up the stairs and undressed, before I got in the tub. Krypto played with the bubbles.
I giggled, because Krypto really was a little cutie, when he wanted to be. Krypto noticed me watching and stopped, but eventually went back to trying to catch the bubbles. Eventually, I got done taking a bath and did my hair. After that, I slipped int some pajamas and headed to bed, Krypto curled into my stomach.
