Alice was rubbing my back soothingly, as I cried into my hands guarding my face from curious on lookers. I felt stupid for crying all out in the open, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't stop.
"It'll be okay. . .there's many fish in the sea", Alice tried to comfort me which was doing absolutely nothing for me. I couldn't believe he ended our relationship like that. He was my first for everything, my first kiss, my first love. . .my first lover. And just like that, he had ended it.. I wasted 3 and a half years on him and the best he could do was break up with me over the phone. I would have never done anything that remotely cruel to him. Even now, with my heart feeling like he had drove a wedge hammer through it, I couldn't imagine hurting him like that.
My sniffles and sobs started to get heavier with each and every breath and I wasn't sure when it was going to end.
Suddenly, Trish started wildly tapping my shoulder. "Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, he's here, he's walking towards us I knew he would come!" Trish squeaked.
Quickly, I looked up from my hands and saw Eli and a few of his friends. Great just great, Eli would see me crying like a baby and the worst part is Trish knew he was coming. I tried to gain my cool before he got here but it wasn't working. . .at all. To save me some dignity, I decided to just hide in my hands and hope he didn't notice me.
How stupid was I? Yeah, like he wouldn't see a large lump with blonde hair on the bench.
I heard their talking getting louder with each second until the talk stopped. That's when I knew they were standing in front of us.
"What's wrong with her?" One of Eli's friends obnoxiously asked, chuckling at the end.
"Oh that's Elissa, her boyfriend just broke up with her", Alice blurted. From behind my hands, I glared at Alice and I wanted to stomp on her foot for just telling my business like that to them. Now, Eli definitely knew it was me and he had saw me in such a vulnerable state. Thanks Alice.
"Oh. . .well I hope you cheer up soon. . . . you're really hot so a lot of guys will definitely want you and your bo-oww", another guy yelped as Eli shoved him in the ribs.
"What my idiot of a friend meant to say was . . .you're really beautiful so you shouldn't worry about one guy. If he's stupid enough to let a girl like you go, then he wasn't worth it anyway." Eli winked. "So maybe if you're cheered up by tomorrow you could come to my one my friend's houses", he smiled encouragingly at me.
I smiled a little bit inside, but on the outside all I could do was frown. "Thanks", I frowned, avoiding his state.
He blinked at my response. I guess he was not use to such a unhappy response to an invitation that was given by him. He quickly hid his shock and smiled slighting at me, nodding his head. "Yeah no problem", he said.
He looked around awkwardly and then one of his friends broke the silence. "Were going to see what babe we can score for the party, so we'll hopefully see you at the party." They all started laughing and slapping hands and walked off. As they were a few feet away Eli waved goodbye to me. I smiled and waved back.
"Look he made you smile", Sarah pointed out.
I frowned again still trying to show them that I didn't cheer up all the way but a smile immediately crawled along my face. Alice and Sarah both laughed but Trish didn't, instead she got up and walked away.
Sarah and Alice both stopped laughing and quickly get up and run after her. "Wait up", they screamed in unison, catching up to her storming away figure. Slowly, I get up and rolling my eyes and walked towards them but didn't run like they did. I'm getting tired of her acting like this.
