Looking up into a pair of sparkling, green eyes I couldn't help but let out a breathless whisper. "Hey Eli",I said shyly, slyly glancing around for Dylan. He had just disappeared and a part of me wondered where he had gone.
"Hey." He smiled down at me, his perfectly straight teeth on full display. His smile sent a tingle that ran from my head to my toes.
At that moment, I realized I didn't really care what happened to Dylan, I was just glad Eli was here now.
"Where's Trish?" I questioned, wrapping my arms around his neck. It had just crossed my mind that he and Trish drove to the party together. My mind was taking me on a very negative trail of reasons why Eli could be late.
He shrugged flippantly, tightening his hands around my waist. "I don't know she got mad at me and stormed off" He tightened his hands around my waist, smiling that charming smile at me.
"Why did she storm off?"
He looked at me and shook his head, looking down, indicating he didn't want to talk about it. disappointment hit me in the stomach, but I couldn't help but mumble out feeling like I was prying in a place I really shouldn't be prying in. "Oh I'm sorry."
He chuckled. "It's cool."
We danced for a few more songs and he even managed to crack jokes which kept me laughing the whole time through. It was after the sixth song when he offered to get me a drink. Feeling high off of spending time with him, I nodded. For a few moments I stayed on the dance floor, swaying to the beat. People danced crazily around, grinding on each other.
I decided to get off the dance floor when a drunken guy came up to me and tried to grope me. His coordination was so bad, however, that he missed me completely and ended up grabbing some guy's ass. The guy turned around, thunder on his face when he realized a guy had just touched him like that and I took that as my cue to leave the scene before I got in the middle of a drunken party fight.
My worries about parties stared to resurface when I rushed to the drink table and realized Eli wasn't even there, nor was he in the kitchen, or anywhere close by. He had just vanished. I looked around frantically for him but he wasn't no where to be seen. I was now alone again.
Slowly, my eyes traveled over the scene of the party. Girls were making out in the corner while guys cheered them on, some guy was yelling with a beer in one hand and a pink and purple bed sheet wrapped around his entire body. It was obvious that he had got the sheet from some little's girl room upstairs, and I couldn't help but feel bad for whoever the little girl was. Hopefully, the guy who was hosting this party would wash the sheets for her.
As I watched the chaos unfold around me, I couldn't help but feel a little dejected and nervous. Dejected; Because everyone that I had leaned on had disappeared and left me alone at the complete will of the party, even Eli. . .ouch. And nervous: because all my worries were coming to life.
With a frown planted on my face, I cautiously walked to the snack table and looked at the lemonade, punch and then the cans of beer. The lemonade had a bottle of vodka directly by it, while the cans of the beer was completely out. So, yeah I definitely went with the punch.
Warily, I chugged down the cup of punch. I had just went for a second cup when I thought I had saw a glimpse of Trish. Without a second to lose, I threw the second cup of punch down my throat and hurried outside, realizing a little bit too late that my amble was wobbly. The room was slightly spinning, but I suddenly felt stronger and like I could do anything.
Strutting out the house as best as I could, It became obviously I came to the wrong place. There was a huge pool with people in it, numerous of them were lip locked with one another. Constant splash sounds mixed with the music coming from the house as drunken teens dived into the water littered with empty red, plastic cups while others danced to the music.
