"So what are we going to do?" Sarah asked us.
Trish and I both shrugged. We all slept over at Alice's house since her mom was the only mom who wouldn't care or notice if we had scratches or bruises on us. Alice walked in with ice packs and frozen vegetables and sat them down in the middle of our circle and sat down. Alice picked up a bag of frozen vegetables and sat it on her leg. She relaxed back and looked at me.
"What's wrong with her?" She said asking Sarah.
Sarah looked at Alice like she was stupid. "Um Eli..."Sarah replied.
Alice nodded her head understandingly and then turned to me again. "You know you're going to go back to him."
I grabbed an ice pack and placed it on my neck. The chill instantly cooled down some of the pain."No I'm not, not this time."
Trish looked and me amused and then turned her head to the ice packs. "Yes you are, you still have that goofy, dumb Eli loving look to you." She vouched for Alice, reaching for an ice pack.
I gasped. "What look? I don't have a look." I grabbed a tissue and wiped my nose. The relationship was over, but I was still affected. Anger, hurt, pain, sadness all were swirled up into one and hitting me mentally and emotionally like a hammer every second it felt like.
"It's just this look that you have to you." Trish replied, scrutinizing me with her blue eyes. One eye currently had a long scratch under it. She glanced at me as if she was going to dissect me or something, but then simply shook her head.
Alice and Sarah both nodded. "Yeah you do," Sarah sighed. Great it must be true if Sarah was saying it.
I rolled my eyes annoyed. "Okay what ever you guys say."
We all got quiet again and aided to our bruises. "So how are we going to cover these?" Alice asked, relaxing back on the floor. She crossed her legs at the ankle and eyed us broodingly.
"Well you can wear pants Alice. Trish and Elissa can put makeup over there..." Sarah suggested.
"No way! Have you not seen this scratch, it would hurt if I did that!" I fired, rejecting her idea. During the fight one of them scratched me all the way from my ear to my collarbone. It hurt when I touched it and it was currently red.
Sarah eyed me silently, but shrugged at my response.
"You don't have an infection it's just irritated, so all you will need is sensitive make up to cover it," Trish rolled her eyes.
I looked at Alice who had been hit probably the hardest. She had a black eye that was forming and a large, ugly bruise on her leg. "What about that black eye?" I questioned concerned, wincing when Alice touched her black eye.
Her hand came back down and panic sparked in her eyes. She looked at me with a terrified look. "I have a black eye?" She scrambled for a mirror. She grabbed a mirror that was by her bed and looked at her eye. "Oh shit look at this! My gray eyes will make this black eye pop fuck!" She screamed throwing her mirror. The mirror hit the wall and we all heard it crack. We all jumped and then looked at Alice like she was crazy.
"Don't just stare at me help me!" She screeched looking for the coldest ice pack.
"Here." I handed her mine.
Letting out a breath, she glanced at me. "Thanks." She grabbed mine and put it on her eye.
"Please God please don't let this get any worse." She whined, throwing her head back like she was literally talking to the man upstairs. "I swear if ever see those girls again I'm jumping on them like a crazy sick tiger." She growled, pressing the ice against her eyes harder but then winced and relieved some of the pressure.
At her words, I burst into tears. They all looked at me like I belonged in an asylum.
"Are you okay?" Trish was first surprisingly to ask the million dollar question.
"Tigers were Eli's favorite animal" I blubbered trying to wipe the tears away to no avail.
They all sighed. "Oh my gosh just hook back up with him and beat his ass if he cheats again." Trish huffed putting a bag of frozen vegetables on her cheek.
I shook my head. "I can't and I miss Dylan too." I cried. I heard them huff again
"She cries more than babies." Trish muttered only to be elbowed my Alice.
"Aren't you guys suppose to be advocating for me to not be with him?" I rubbed my eye. "You're suppose to be my friends!"
Trish perked up her hand. "I did advocate for you not being with him, remember in the beginning? But no someone likes sloppy seconds."
Alice elbowed her again and Trish winced. "Don't mind Trish, she'll always be a bitch, but yeah we would advocate but we've known Eli for a while. Once he gets a girl under his spell, they're goners until he says otherwise...isn't that right Trish? Wasn't he the sloppy seconds of Veronica?" Alice smirked secretively at Trish.
Trish reddened. "Okay, I get it, but Veronica was a bitch and-"
"Like you!" Alice added laughing.
Trish rolled her eyes, and Alice continued back to her original point. "Anyways we know how this goes. He's desirable and charming and a girl like you doesn't stand a chance...sorry." She added apologetically when she saw my frown, but I knew there was truth to her words. "You're so sweet and country and apparently Eli likes what he sees. You've gone farther with him than any other girl, so he's obviously attached...I bet the dude loves you and if a guy like Eli loves someone, he's not going to let them go that easily."
My shoulders slumped in defeat. Alice was right. I did want to go back with Eli. It was stupid, but I couldn't help wanting to be with him. I loved the jackass for goodnessakes. He frustrated me, but made me so happy at the same time and I never felt like this with someone. But he had kissed Shelby. Utter betrayal went through me at the memory. I didn't know if I could forgive him and learn to trust him again after this. He had broken my trust and if a relationship didn't have trust then the relationship was doomed.
Sarah grabbed my arm and tenderly began rubbing my back. "Listen hun we all know you're going to go back out with him. However if for some reason that you haven't went back out with him by the start of school then we will all pay you twenty dollars each," Sarah said trying to make a bet.
I stared at her not believing she was betting on my relationship. "Really Sarah, betting?"
She smirked. "You say you're done so why not?"
Oh, she was challenging me. We couldn't have that. "Deal." I narrowed my eyes, shaking her hand. I may want Eli, but I didn't know if I could ever get back in a relationship with him.
"But if you have went back to him then you will owe us twenty dollars,"Alice grinned, ice pack still pressed up against her eye. I looked at them and they were all smirking.
"Fine." I hissed an agreement.
