The day had finally come for Eli's and my date. I had come to the conclusion that I would meet up with Eli and talk over everything that has went on in the last couple of weeks. If things went well than everything could be smooth sailing, but if I felt like he wasn't giving his all or lying even a little I was done with him. At times, Eli was a mystery and I never knew what I would get. But I guess that was one of the things I loved about him. However his mystery act was beginning to wear us thin.
Sarah and Alice snuck in my house to help me pick out a outfit. A couple of days ago Eli had changed the time to 9 because the movie we wanted to see specifically doesn't start till 9:15 so I'll have more time to get ready and walk to the movie theater.
Yes, Eli had wanted to pick me up, but I needed time to clear my thoughts before I saw him.The short walk and cool night air would be the perfect time for me to gather my thoughts before I talked to him. It seemed my control always seemed to snap whenever he was closer. Eli always seemed to be able to intoxicate me and muddle up my thoughts.
Alice picked out a cute black t-shirt that read "No Pain, No Gain" in the middle and some slightly distressed skinny jeans for me to wear.
Walking out of the bathroom, I stumbled in my heels. I heard Sarah muffle a laugh.
"Like you can do any better. Jeez, I'm not a heels girl." I snapped playfully leaning on the wall for support and making sure the heel was on right.
"Why didn't I decide on heels again?" I questioned, eyes the shoes in distaste. They weren't neccasrily too high, but my track record in heels had never been that good to start off with.
"Because you're going to look like a hot, bad bitch when you see Eli." Trish replied in a 'duh' tone. "The goal is to make that boy weep for you to come back."
Alice side-eyed Trish. "I thought it was just a date. Your idea sounds like some hard ass malicious mission to make him grovel."
"Well shouldn't he?" Trished rolled her eyes.
Sarah glanced at my phone speaking over my two other friends before they could go any farther. "You got a message from Eli.
"Read it please," I said still checking myself out.
"Meet me at the movie at 8 instead picked a different one xo." She read out loud.
I smiled to myself smoothing over the fabric on my stomach. Eli never wrote hugs and kisses when we texted so I found it kind of cute and endearing that he would now. Sarah, and Alice and I talked for a few and then I snuck out and they walked me to the movies. I had planned to walk alone but they furiously disagree with my 'idiotic thinking', as they called it, and proceeded to walk me to the cinema. We cut through the Belladome park which was a shortcut from my house to the cinema and they eagerly chatted throwing out random advice and comments that at times didn't even connect with the occasion.
"Don't have sex!" Alice warned.
I frowned. "We're going to a movie and he's driving me back afterwards."
"Movie sex is a real thing." Trish add her two cents.
Not even able to hold back a smile at the idea of seeing Eli and spending time with him when we weren't arguing and bickering, I walked into the cinema and sat on one of the violet benches and waited for Eli.
It had been ten minutes of waiting for Eli when I started to get bored and began to pick at my green nail polish and play on my phone. I watched as couples walked out the theaters laughing and holding hands. With an annoyed sigh, I rested my head on my fist and moped watching the crowd.
