Happily I picked out a flirty red top and some jeans that hugged my legs perfectly. I needed to looked my best if I was going to catch Eli's eye. It was important that I dressed to impress.
Music blared through my stereo as I curled my blonde hair and straightened my bangs. Dancing over to my bed, I grabbed the jean jacket thrown on and pulled it over my shirt.
With one last appreciative glance at my attire, I turned the stereo off and walked out and into my parents room. My dad was still at work leaving my mom all alone to do what she does best: nag and lounge around the house. Our blue eyes connected, a magazine in her bed and a cooking station blaring on the tv.
"Mom I'm going over Sarah's house to study be back by. . ." I paused trying to think of a good time to come, but she continued my sentence.
"In a hour." She instructed sternly, giving me a no-nonsense stare. God, I hated that look. It basically said that if I did not do what I was told there would be consequences.
I rolled my eyes annoyed. A hour would definitely not due for me, but I would let her think it would. "Sure."
"It's all ready pass 10 so be lucky that I let you go out this late Elissa. Be grateful", she nagged, eyes flickering to the cooking station letting me know she was ready for me to exit so she could tune back to her show.
I ignored her, simply nodding my head, and rushed into my room and did the usual for when I'm going to a party: create a believable disguise under my covers, quickly turn off the lights to obscure the disguise, and leave.
"Bye mom!" I yelled starting down the stairs noisily.
"Byee."
I walked outside and waited for Sarah. After a few minutes of standing in the warm night air, I saw her car. Even through the darkness I knew it was Sarah's car because she cruised down the street with her music blasting.
I quickly got in hoping my mom wouldn't hear. That was another thing I would have to add to the list of possible things my mom would nag to me about. Elissa, you friend plays her music entirely too loud, I could already imagine her saying.
"Can you turn that music down a little", I hissed, glaring slightly at her.
She waved my negative mood off with a loud laugh, before turning the revolver up just to prove her point despite my chagrin. "No way, we're getting prepared for one of the best end of the summer parties ever!" She yelled, speeding off.
"Take off that jacket", Alice smiled at me.
"I only wore it because I didn't want my mom to see my shirt" I replied, taking the jacket at hand off.
Playfully Alice scanned my outfit and then smirked. "Ohhh you trying to show your stomach. . .oh I see you. Making sure you're the spotlight tonight huh?" She giggled lightly, especially when I looked at her annoyed.
Rolling my eyes, I smiled. "Whatever lets just hurry and get there. I'm ready to see Eli and dance the whole night away with him." Just thinking about him made my heart flutter. I just wanted to have a good time with my boyfriend. I would simply dance with him, flirt a little and hopefully everything would fall in place.
Suddenly, Trish turned in the front seat so we were face to face. Her light blue eyes scanned my attire, eyes glinting, before a smile lit her face. "Have fun", she grinned and turned back around.
I looked at Alice in complete confusion wondering why Trish was cheering me on. I thought Trish would be the last one cheering me on. Smiling, Alice shrugged at me and started dancing to the music in the car.
