The sound  of the thunderous vacuum running and my mom's loud, ecstatic voice woke me up. "They'll be here soon", she kept saying.  I always wondered why when parents were asleep you were quiet as a mouse, but then when you were asleep your parents did the loudest things imaginable.

With a few grumbled curses, I walked in my bathroom and took a quick shower. By the time they got here, I want to be out of this house and as far away as possible. I ran some water over my hair to give it that wavy look I loved so much and ran into my room, quickly shutting the door and changing changed into some shorts, blue flip-flops, and blue shirt with a heart necklace.

After grabbing my phone, I was ready to make my great escape. I had just jogged out my room, when I literally ran smack-dab into Austin's arm. With a yelp, I jerked back and looked at him like he was crazy. "You almost choked me!" I growled, rubbing my throat which had taken most of the impact.

He rolled his eyes. "So, you're okay now." He leveled me with a suspicious glare. "Why are you leaving? Mom says we need to stay here until they get here."

"I can't I don't want to see Wade", I argued frustrated, realizing he was my blocking my escape.

Austin shrugged, frowning slightly at my misfortunes. "Sorry sis this isn't a choice. If you're not here, she's going to be pissed and you know how mom gets",he said. He was right. Mom would literally go ape-shit if we weren't downstairs like the perfect family to greet Wade and his family. After we had moved here, she had made it her mission to become just like the suburban families she watches on Tv. If she felt like her family wasn't measuring up, then there would be hell to pay.

I sighed and stomped towards where my mom was dusting. "Mom," I begin to try to reason, hoping that she would have a heart on this situation and see where I was coming from. "After what happen between Wade and I, I really don't want to see him-"

Still dusting of the entertainment center, even though it was the most spotless I had ever seen it, she cut me off. "I'm sorry but you're just going to have to suck it up. We're going to greet them like a good suburban family does." My heart dropped.

"We will never be suburban, so stop trying to change us. New flash we're country" I snapped. "New flash we're country ma!"

Her dark, livid eyes had me shutting my mouth. "I don't care! You're staying", she growled. "Now go make the beds in the guest bedrooms."

"They're here, they're here!" My mom screamed, wrapping up the vacuum and running downstairs like a mad woman. We all awkwardly stood side by side trying to become the model family that my mom had pictured in her messed up mind. My dad was even off of work for this so called special occasion. With a mega-watt smile, she opened the door.

"Come in, come in", she urged, moving aside to let the family, that I would rather jump off a bridge than see, come in.

I crossed my arms and watched as Mrs. and Mr. Dunken came in. They each were smiling and chatted with my mom and then father as my mom showed them up to their room. The next Dunken to come in was Tara, Isabelle's "other half", at least that what she said. As soon as Tara walked in Isabelle screamed with joy and ran up to her. "I missed you so much!" They both said at the same time, holding each other like at any second one of them would disappear. I watched the door with sickening anticipation, hoping that somehow someway Wade wouldn't walk through the door. Unfortunately he walked in and dropped all the suitcases at the door.

He still looked the same. Deep forest-green eyes that I could have spent hours staring at and was always  sparked to life with adventure. His blonde hair was chop down to the short-buzz cut that he had wore since I could remember. In nothing but a white t-shirt and blue jeans, his defined, beefy muscles were clearly displayed.
