Hello beautiful people! :) I hope you all are having a great day! I started another chapter just after updating the other day....am I good or what? Lol anyways I hope you are enjoying my story.
-------------------------------"Vincent please let me go to the damn grocery store, I mean what's the worst thing that can happen?" I argued with him. I had spent the last two hours with him trying to get him to let me leave the house for at least an hour. I mean I was just going to go to the damn store it's not like I would run away I was going to be with the girls.
"Annabelle I don't think that's a good idea." His voice was dark and getting angrier with each minute that I argued with him. He wasn't used to people disagreeing with him because he always got his way.
"And why not? What do you think I'm going to run away? I've had plenty of opportunities to and yet I haven't left yet. Quit being such a hardass all the time!" I threw my hands up in aggravation.
"Anna don't test me. I said no the first fifty times you asked me." He snapped and for a second I thought about submitting to him but my inner stubborn self refused to not this time.
"Vincent I just want to get out of the house with the girls. I never get to go anywhere without you. Don't get me wrong I enjoy spending time with you but I need my girl time. We wanted to prepare a nice dinner for you guys and you won't even loosen up the reigns long enough for me to even have some freedom." I plopped down on the recliner he had in the corner of his office. I was starting to lose hope that he would ever allow me to leave his sight.
"Fine. You can go to the store with the girls but Darren will go with, to make sure you don't try anything." As soon as he told me I could go my body was filled with excitement only to have it crushed by saying that Darren had to come with us. The one guy from Vincent's crew I couldn't stand. The very same guy who threatened to slit my throat and dump me into a ditch and meant every word.
"What? That guy is an asshole! At least send Matteo or Adriano! Not someone who threatened to kill me!" I know I should have been grateful that he was allowing me to go after hours of telling me no but I couldn't stand Darren.
"No Darren is going regardless, either he goes with you or you don't go at all. I've told you not to test my patience Annabelle." He said sternly and I knew that I should be thankful that he was even allowing me out of his sight. I couldn't help but be angry with the tone he used with me. It was like a father scolding a child. Don't get me wrong I knew I was acting like a kid by begging him in the first place but sometimes you just want to be out of the house seeing new surroundings.
"Fine." I crossed my arms over my chest and surrendered to his overprotective ways. I knew I wouldn't win this battle no need to press the issue even further than I already had.
"Here's my credit card buy whatever we need for the house and whatever else it is that you need." He handed me his card and I stormed out of his office without saying a word.
The girls and I piled into the Tahoe and Darren drove us to the store. He definitely didn't want to be around us or maybe it was just me. He seemed to like the other girls. He would engage in light conversation with them. Whenever he made eye contact with me in the rear view mirror the look he gave me, if looks could kill I would be dead in my seat. I don't know what his problem was with me but he didn't try to hide it in any way.
We pulled into the store parking lot and Darren parked the car and we all got out and made our way into the store. Sarah grabbed a cart and we started grabbing things that we needed.
