Zayn's POV
The flight went by very slowly despite that I was sleeping through it. All of my dreams were black and white...but Liv.
We're in a motel since the crew is jet lagged, I'll try later to look through this city closer since I wanted to start as soon as possible with my search. I know we had so much work before us, and a simply place as a location isn't really much. But we had the upper hand that the mob doesn't know that we're on them. Also we're onto something since Harry is still following their group's runners, which would give us an idea where their locations here in Turkey are.
Ankara seems a busy city, it's big, noisy. If I don't get something back from Harry, I don't think we'll be able to find anything.
Liam walked in after he had dinner with the guys, I wasn't hungry.
How could I eat if Liv's probably starving?
"Just like in old times, huh?" he lightly said then plops down the couch.
We're sharing a room.
I nodded absently.
"We'll find her, stop worrying." he mumbled above a whisper.
"Is Niall looking after the cop?" I mused then walked from the window to the drawer on the side, I unclasp my watch and put it on it.
Liam chuckled, "He's your father-in-law, have some respect." he mocked.
"Like you had for Alice's-" I catch myself, turning my head to him alarmed, he's frowning. Leabe to me to make it more fuckïng awkward. "It slipped..." I quietly said, "I'm s-"
"No, you're right." he shrugged, but I could tell he wasn't as cool about it like he makes it out to be.
I just have to have the last fuckıng word.
"How have you been coping?" I asked unsure, scratching my neck. I'm certain it's hard for him. He and Alice deserved better. I wouldn't dare to think about what I would've been feeling if I lost Liv that night.
Since I can't relate, I don't act as if I have a fuckïng clue to what he felt, still is feeling. That'd make me a hypocrite... Death follows one even after the person you love has gone for a while now. I knew that best from my mother. I was young, yet her ghost still lingers in my heart, mind, memories. And Liam lost the love of his life...since I know him well, that means her departure left a scar that's incurable.
"It goes...life doesn't wait for anyone." he replied while staring off to nothing particular. That's true.
"I don't know what to tell you," I honestly say, but I felt like explaining myself, "I wasn't fair to you... I made you leave when you needed help the most," I begin, "But you know how I am, I never do it right the first time." I joke pathetically, then clear my throat, he's been listening but not looking at me, "I'm trying to make it right by finding that motherfūcker. I wasn't on him only because of Liv. I mean," I calmly continued, "I would still try to find him to revenge you and Alice."
"I know."
"Good." I conclude, nodding a time.
It's silent, minutes of us going through rumination.
"Niall said the cop is not doing anything shady. He's just as anxious as you," he explained after a while.
Humming at him as a response, I was looking through my phone when it rings.
It's an unknown number, I have half a mind to decline but it interrupted by itself.
Frowning, I went to sit on one of the beds, letting my phone on the side. Then I look around. The room is spacious and not unkept, it's normal from decoration, not having much stuff. A drawer, closet and fridge that seems rusty.
