Son of the Morning

Son of the morning,
How beautiful thy name.
How beautiful thy throne of lies,
Thy throne of secrets and blame.

How beautiful thy nature
Of deceit and broken promises;
The illusion that thou showest men
Of instantaneous happiness.

How beautiful thy lure
That enticest all mankind
To turn away from their Lord and God,
To abandon the light.

It is so much easier
To embrace the natural man,
And how tempting it may look,
But that happiness won't last.

I will stand next to my God
Until the final day,
And I will not listen to thy voice.
I will not fall away.
