The Lazy Generation.
That's what we are called.
I don't think we deserve
That title at all.Sure, we've got new tech
That allows for more convenience,
But we're also facing expectations
Of greater and better achievement.Compared to many years ago
We need higher education
In order to get anywhere
In our shining and "free" nation. If you don't have at least a bachelor's
You'll be working fast food joints.
Making a dollar an hour
Which you'll end up counting in coins. And the older generation
Thinks we are so dependent.
Thinks we can't do anything
Without one of our parents.Well, I have news for you.
I may not be able to work the soil,
But just because I can work a phone
Doesn't mean that I am spoiled.I was raised with manners
And a sense of respect,
But I'll only use the words
That you deserve to get.Don't treat me like I'm lazy
Or without the ability to work.
Because I have the right characteristics,
But ignoring that makes you a jerk.
