Sleep, the Elusive Trick

"Are you awake?" I open my eyes
To look right into your soul.
I want to whither up and die.
Was embarrassment your goal?

Then I drift off again,
But truly I was trying.
"Person sitting next to her,
You're responsible if she starts dying."

You didn't have to embarrass me,
But you decided to do it twice.
I take back everything I said
About you that was nice.
