True Feelings

Of my favorite things about you,
Number one is your smile.
Number two is probably your laugh,
Number three your sense of style.

I also have a list of things
That I almost hate.
Number one among those
Is when you won't eat what I make.

Or when you don't take compliments,
Or when you talk bad about yourself.
I want your depreciating sense of humor
To be thrown onto the highest shelf.

Never to be retrieved again,
It will sit there forever.
Until it crumbles and falls apart,
Never to come back together.

On the bright side I also like
The pink velvet cookies you bake,
And your willingness to serve
When you have other things on your plate.

I wish you'd take more pictures,
But there are worse things.
Like the fact that I suck at talking to you,
And I have to write a poem to say anything.
