The next week me and Gail made a habit of going to the park to feed the ducks. It was a nice breath of fresh air and a chance for exercise. He would tell me of historic events that demons played a part of or that humans didn't know about. I was eating up everything that he had to offer me. It was just so freaking cool!

I felt like I had been let in on a huge secret that would allow me entrance into a cool club. It actually wasn't that far from the truth though. Gail told me about his clan of demon.

Drakes were actually social creatures that felt comfortable in flocks. They loved warm weather but could stand the cold just fine. They flew faster than dragons did but didn't have the strength or magic they had. Not to mention the size but don't mention that. Drakes had the small dog complex and hated it when you mentioned their size. I made the mistake of joking about it to Gail who got a little upset with me.

They could breath lightning and their roars are often mistaken as thunder. They often roared during natural storms and had contests with each other. He bragged that back when he was in his teens he had the loudest roar. He told me how he would practice on it every chance he got. When I asked him where his flock is now he grew silent. I immediately changed the subject sensing something had happened. I could only guess as to what happened but it was best not to pry.

Gail had began allowing me to go to work with him since he was the only one working in his warehouse anyways. It was loads of fun when we had free time which was more than you think thanks to me. There was this pallet lift that I had never seen before. It could be ridden like a weird scouter if it had been attached to another one. I would jack it all the way up, go as fast as I could go then pushed the lever that made it go down.

Gail got on with me a few times and really had us flying. Once we almost crashed into the garage door. It was fun though. His job wasn't that bad, most the time he just had to organize things, do inventory and then type in the times things got in and the inventory on a spreadsheet and send it into his boss. Then he would have to fill out paperwork and send it in then do even more paperwork if something came in or was shipped out late.

When the Semi trucks came to pick up their order Gail had to sign off on it then have the guy sign off. Then he would go get the pallets or pallet of things that needed to be loaded up with the fork lift. It took him about twenty or so minutes to do. One time when he was closing the garage door I got onto the fork of the forklift just for the fun of balancing. Next thing I knew I was hanging on for dear life screaming my lung to smithereens.

Gail had decided it would be funny to lift the fork and spin around. By the time he was done was dizzy as all hell and my throat was sore. Don't ask me why, for not even I myself know but I got back on the fork and he did it again several days later. Why was a lot of stupid and dangerous shit so much fun?

When we weren't being idiots, doing inventory, and paperwork we were either watch a movie, playing a online game or just rocking out to music. One day it started to pour down rain. I lifted up the garage door and sat down on the concrete to watch the rain fall to the ground. That night Gail took me up to the roof of the Insane Asylum and let me hear one of his roars. It thrilled me to the point my hairs were standing up and I had a huge grin on my face. It was strong enough to rattle my eardrums and probably a lot of windows. After that he showed me his demon form.

His skin turned bluish black in color and his round pupils became slits. He had a long spiked tail and he grew talons but he lacked any wings. He told me he didn't have enough blood in him to inherit the trait. Made me feel kind of sad for him. He must of sense my mood change cause next thing I knew he had a bolt of lightning coming out of his mouth shooting into the sky. I was so suprised I feel back onto my but making Gail laugh at me.
