A Hearts Wish Is A Dream

Bathtime

I yawned opening up my eyes. The living room was dark telling me that it was night time. I sat up from the couch and had the urge to go for a walk. This actually was common for me. In the middle of the night, no matter if I just woke up or not, I tend to want to go for a walk. I just really like the night for some reason. I usually only walk around if I am with my friends since they typically stay up late too.

I yawned once more stretching and got up. I looked to Sesshomaru noticing him standing too looking at me with almost glowing golden eyes. I went to the restroom then came back out and put on my shoes.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"WE, are going for a midnight stroll. This way you can patrol the land and not have to worry about me having to take Joy with us. That and humans trying to catch you or something." I said walking over to the front door. I opened it up and stepped aside so that he could get through. Once he was outside I shut the door and went down the stone steps.

In silence I followed Sesshomaru as he walked around wherever his heart wished. I looked up to the starry sky looking for constellations. I looked to the moon judging whether it was waxing or waning. It was nearly full so I was hoping it was waxing. I loved walks in the light of a full moon. The only thing I wished I had was my phone and headphones to rock out with.

My mind wandered over the past but I didn't feel the sting of emotions that should have accompanied the memories. I was in a relaxed state, I was simply looking over the facts once more.

Once I had finished with that I began to map out how many council members were in the U.S.A. I also wondered how many demons states were in the other countries of the continent I was in. Did Hawaii, Cuba and Greenland count too? They were close enough and Hawaii was a U.S. state.

Guess I'll have more questions for Gail when I return. I noticed the faint glow on the horizon and briefly wondered what time it was. Sesshomaru started back tracking to the house not wanting to be out during the day. I listen to the sounds of the birds chirping about. I could even hear some people getting up for work. It was all crystal clear to me, thanks to my new found advanced senses.

The sun was about a third of the way showing when me and Sesshomaru arrived back to Amber's house. When I walked in she and Joy were in the kitchen as she prepared her lunch for the day.

"Hey nightcrawler, how long you been out?" She huffed not really a morning person.

"I have no clue maybe and hour or two." I shrugged sitting down on the couch. I untied my shoes and laid back down.

"Oh, well I got to go to work. Take care." She said picking up her keys and things for the day.

"Okay, have a good day at work." I said snuggling down into the couch.

"Thanks." She said then left leaving Joy looking at the door wagging her tail for a minute before coming to me. Once she was all settled on the couch I laid my head down and fell asleep again.

I woke back up around nine and made everyone breakfast. I let Sesshomaru and Joy out alone after asking Sesshomaru to watch over Joy. I took a nice bath sure that Sesshomaru wouldn't be in a rush to get back in. I ended up falling asleep due to the warm water for a few seconds, maybe thirty minutes. I got out dried off, got dressed and noticed the gut wrenching sound of rain. Where there is rain, there is mud. I rushed to the front door throwing it open to see a very mad and muddy Sesshomaru with a very happy overly muddy Joy.

"Fuck!" I cursed opening up the door to let them in. Both walked in tracking mud in the house as they went. "Sorry, I didn't know it was raining outside!" I said patting my thigh so that Joy would follow me.

"Obviously." Sesshomaru said sourly. I had to grab Joy by the collar to get her into the bathroom.

"No bath! NO BATH! JOY GOOD GIRL!" She whimpered.

"Joy, your dirty! I'm sorry but I have to clean you." I strained getting her into the tub. She continued to whine and complain but I just gave her a deaf ear and washed her up as quick as I could. She ran out the the bathroom before I could even dry her. "Alright, let's get you clean too." I said looking over at Sesshomaru. He didn't look too happy about it but he hopped into the tub.

I soaked him down then began rubbing in the dog shampoo on him. It was awkward because well, I was bathing Sesshomaru. Once done he got out and let me dry him off. He left without saying a word so I didn't make a big deal of it. It might not be all that weird for him to have someone else bathing him, he is a Lord after all.

Afterwards he padded out and I grabbed the carpet cleaner. Amber would scalp both me and Sesshomaru if she saw her house right now. A cold bead of sweat rolled down my back just thinking of it.
