After the events that night I've noticed a lack of my need to sleep. Three hours was enough sleep for me everyday. Amber says that it's a normal thing for Dragoon. It's been rough getting used to being a Dragoon. The gang really want to see me but with what happened I don't want them around right now, for their safety.

Sesshomaru ended up buying me and my friends our dream home in Nebraska, even though we had to stay in California for now. He said that it would be our home until I decided that I didn't want to live there any more. He had a group of men go and move them and our stuff to the property immediately.

The day after what happened we were bombarded by the council congratulating us and making sure we kept to our promise. I wanted to flip them the bird but Sesshomaru stopped me. On the third day me and Sesshomaru gave the council a twenty four hour warning to get out of our territory. It was so satisfying to wave goodbye to Slan as she got into her car. I may not be able to kill her politically but I can taunt her with a smile. After that I then started training in using my powers. In just four days I was too take part in the funeral.

I stood under the umbrella that Sesshomaru held above myself and him. My head was bowed in respect from the man who saved my dreams. Once the praying was all said and done it was my job to burn the casket. I steped up, into the rain and took a deep breath.

"Your flame lives on in me, and so it also live on in my heart. May you find another realm to den happily in." I said then lifted my hand and ignited the wood that lay under his corpse. When a dragon dies, it's soul travels the universe until it find another place to call home. Once it does, it chooses a living creature to birth it into exsistance once more. Thus, the cycle repeats over and over. The flames shot out from my hand and clung to the wood until it too burned. Once everything was engulfed in flames I stepped away and dug into my pocket for a gold coin. I made sure it was solid gold efore having Sesshomaru buy two.

Sesshomaru got out his coin and at the same time we placed it as close to the flames as we could get. A few people stepped up and did the same. Some even offering expensive stones and other treasures. Then, we left without another word. Me and Sesshomaru got into the car with Scott and left. A little ways down the road I felt Sesshomaru brush away my tears.

"Do not be sad, it's against the tradition." Sesshomaru said.

"I'm not sad.....just bummed out that it took all this just to be able to live in peice. All of this just for some dream I had, I don't regret it but why did it have to be this complicated." I said. Sure I didn't have to fight or anything but it still effected me. Besides, that night was as close to a fight as I've gotten and I say I'll leave that for Sesshomaru.

"That is the way of nature. What you see as simple is actually more complicated then you could ever think of." He said.

"Yeah, so what now?" I questioned.

"Now, you get introduced as my mate to the demon society." He said making me groan. "Better to jusr get it over with." Sesshomaru said.

"I know! I just, uuuugghhh.....just Ugghh." I said.

"I don't fancy the political part of the title as well." Sesshomaru agreed making me smile over at him.

"You two going to tell me where we're going or do I have to guess?" Scott called back to us.

"Home, for now." Sesshomaru said. I smiled brightly and leaned into his chest. Yes, home sounded amazing right now. My friends asked me if I feel any different towards him now that I knew exactly how he came to be. Of course I told them no. I knew for awhile now that he wasn't Sesshomaru from the anime world, since it didn't exsist. Who cares if he's the reincarnation of a ancient demon spirit. 

They also ask if I bare a grudge towards Amber or the Twins. Once again I say no. Do I not appreciate being apart of some stupid scheme, yes. Yet, it was for the better good and I didn't come out of it unrewarded for being used. I have an extended life, a gorgeous mate to hold dear, and now I'm a Dragoon. I guess I'll count it all even. Well besides from allowing the twins to stay and form their coven with Amber once again, but that's on the down low. I sighed contently and began to think sultry things earning a growl from my mate. The vibration of his chest made my nose tickle.

"You're not cute." He growled.

"Oh come on! I'm adorable and you know it! Why can't we...stop at a motel for the night." I suggested. A week has passed and me and Sesshomaru haven't had any fun.

"No, you will wait for Nebraska." He said firmly.

"Oh come on! Why do I have to wait!?" I whinned.

"Because, I wish to spare as many ears from the sounds of your screams." He purred darkly into my ear. I looked over to Scott who sported a knowing smirk having heard what he said.

"Scott." I said batting my eyelashes.

"On it, we'll be like a bat out of hell my Lady." He said accelerating the car. We laughed together as I settled down against Sesshomaru once again. 'I wish that I could have this moment for life.' I mentally sighed looking out the car.

'You will.' Sesshomaru's voice sounded in my head.

'You promise.' I questioned laying a hand over his.

'I swear.' He said turning over his hand to hold mine. 'Finally, my hearts wish and dream came true! How's that for a goal? If this was a game I bet I would've unlocked an achievement!'

'You and your mortal forms of entertainment.' Sesshomaru said then had a ghost of a smile the whole time I ranted about the wonders of video games. I knew that he just wanted me to fill in the silence. The dog really did miss me!
